So I got a 7700k on my Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI with F20. Good news... everything works. I can crank up the multiplier to 50 if I want to, and the XMP profile for my 2x16GB 3200Mhz DDR4 RAM works without a hitch. I haven't seriously looked at OCing yet but that's soon. Good to see that overclocking...
Did they change the look of your BIOS in F20? Apparently in the F20 update for the Z170XP-SLI BIOS they changed the UEFI interface.
Is there any word from Gigabyte support if they will fix this? If it's something they will fix in the future then I can bear using the 7700k at stock speeds until...
Really?! Where did you find this out??? I have a Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI and I was about to get a 7700k. Do you know if this is the case with all Z170 Gigabyte motherboards? If I can't overclock a 7700k, I think getting a 6700k might be a better option.
