Question Rome Launch 7 August , what about TR?

But last time the Ryzen was released earlier, I would expect later date than August, maybe even October, EPYC2 is 7th of August afterall.

Question Rome Launch 7 August , what about TR?

I hear from someone working at (r)etailer that the treadripper would be available to order for them from the wholesale/distributors in Q4/19.

Question Dilemma: buying AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or waiting for desktop Intel Ice Lake

Ice Lake wont be coming to desktop in few years. Intel can't get the clocks up enough on 10nm process. The roadmaps show that. All the nice IPC increase will go only to the laptop space.

Discussion Ryzen 3000 series benchmark thread ** Open **

Companies even at that time bought platforms, not some certain cpu's. If it was not offered, it was not bought. End of my participation in this issue.

Discussion Ryzen 3000 series benchmark thread ** Open **

The problem was not some DIY builders. The problem was lucrative server side where with less products one gets more money coming in. It's just fanboyism to tell yourself that Intel's doings did not harm AMD. Remember, most of the parts that went to retail could have been diverted for more money...

    Speculation: Ryzen 3000 series

The nda ends in summer saving times at 1600 Helsinki, Athens, 1500 Berlin, 1400 London etc. So at the time this is written, nda ends in little under 15 hours.

Would You Buy Navi if It Was Bundled with Ryzen?

Yeah I would if paired with relevant cpu. With 3900x I would not.

    Speculation: Ryzen 3000 series

It seems that the slide about the memory and infinity fabric is not totally correct: memclk = DDR4- clock (AMD tested with air cooling to DDR4-5133) fclk = Infinity Fabric clock (1:1 -> up to DDR4-3733,after that wont get any higher(?), if not manually tuned) uclk = mem controller clock (1:1...

    Speculation: Ryzen 3000 series

Please show where AMD promised support for all released motherboards for all cpu's until Zen 3. All I have seen is promise for AM4 until Zen 3. That is totally different than supporting all cpu's on all motherboards. Don't be fanboy, use your common sense.

    Speculation: Ryzen 3000 series

Just not true when they are trying to make a new process node that would give them lot more business advantage. You just don't build new factory and don't use it. Delaying decision to build that factory or more of the factories is different story, but decision to build it had been made and they...

    Speculation: Ryzen 3000 series

If money would be all that is needed to fix it, it would have been already fixed. Its just wishful thinking they have solution but dont do it, that makes ZERO sense businesswise.

AMD Ryzen Gen 2 Set For Q2 2018

I expect demand for ryzen & epyc to be so much, AMD can get away with tsa (? that wafer agreement). And has decided to go back with TSMC on gpus. Strong buy for amd share ;)

Speculation: The CCX in Zen 2

If AMD is going to change process mid ryzen like that slide indicates. It dont think it is reasonable to expect it to be more than zen v1.3.

AMD Naples preview, benchmarks, prices and discussion

I do expect per socket performance to be pretty much greater on same power or about par with greatly better power use (with some outliers). I do think it will be a hit on big part of server customers based on what we saw on ryzen, specially Stilts technical review. I just don't want to see the...

AMD Naples preview, benchmarks, prices and discussion

Cant you comprehend what i said? I just said that don't go overlooking what the test is showing. It shows limited case and tells nothing else. I also did not say anywhere that Ryzen is somehow bad. I said some ppl got overhyped and then reacted as it was AMD's fault when it was them who did not...

AMD Naples preview, benchmarks, prices and discussion

That is what i said. Its just that some guys see the "2,5X" and get hyped up how freaking fast and performant it is, then when they see the real performance will go all apes that AMD somehow defrauded them. That already happened with Ryzen line.

AMD Naples preview, benchmarks, prices and discussion

Not to downplay AMD's nice result. But it's pretty clear that most of it is due to memory bandwith. I do believe that there is lot of usage scenarios where it is the most important thing for performance, but don't get hyped up and expect this to be same for compute intensive workloads. This must...

There is two issues. The Win10 scheduler. The games not recognizing ryzen as smt cpu. Last one is cause of the radicat underperformance. The first one is most likely just causing some minor performance losses.

There is zero logic what you say. 6900k does not beat 7700k. The hype was not becouse amd it was becouse ppl dont freaking see what they are looking (but meh, that is normal. average person is just too stupid to understand more than one click away..).

Yeah, 8 core usability 7 years ago is different story to this day. Now we already have lots of games that do thread well, consoles having 8 core cpus drive some of the games to use more than 4 threads. It is the trend to utilize more and more threads for few years ago, it just takes time, but...

Im saying u did not see what AMD showed. They delivered just what they did show. Its in your own head if u thought otherwise. See, you say it urself: It something you wanted. not what AMD had shown. They never ever promised anything else than to be competitive again, that is what they...

AMD never gave any indication it could compete with kabylake ipc or clockwise. Its totally on you not looking what AMD had shown. They did show cpu that is on par with Broadwell-e. That they delivered. It was also known, it will lose on AVX based stuff, that was not surprise. They do have that...

I hope RR is done in TSMC 16FF+. That would remove the clock wall of Ryzens 4GHz most likely. Then, RR could actually be massively interesting offering.

Official AMD Ryzen Benchmarks, Reviews, Prices, and Discussion

I dont think that 4- or 6-core will clock any better. The chip just really hits the wall at 4GHz latest (maybe u get 4,1 or 4,2, but nothing like kabylake 4,9). I think its mostly becouse of the process. What would be interesting is to have TSMC 16FF+ version of ryzen, but maybe its just...

[Canard PC Hardware] Intel prepares Ryzen's response behind the scenes

Nobody sane will believe such thing. But there really is truth in it. Having pressure to do and not having pressure to do is really big difference for many people and thus for many organizations. Many intelligent persons need some pressure to be able to work at their greatest.

AMD Ryzen (Summit Ridge) Benchmarks Thread (use new thread)

My google translate says, if 3,6/4,0 is under 120 its a good achievement. For me it implies, a) he donta have that part, b) he extrapolated from his ES We cant know what was on or foo what comes to ES. We know XFR was off, that can also have big part in final power usage.

I'm pretty sure @The Stilt has ryzen and he has been talking about 55% earlier. I would expect it to be somewhere there. I'm also led to believe that will still be little under Broadwell ipc. So ryzen wont catch kabylake in any means. But will offer greatly competing offering (also in many...

AMD Ryzen (Summit Ridge) Benchmarks Thread (use new thread)

This is just ridiculous. Games today use multiple threads a lot more than decade ago, there is no denying that. Its long process and takes time to get more and more threads utilized. For ages the four cores has been maximum one got in his gaming system, there really was no point to try to...

http://www.redgamingtech.com/exclusive-interview-with-amds-robert-hallock/ There is lot that mb manufacturers can do. X300 frees up the 4 pcie used for X370 chip. I expect X300 to differ also on minimum requirements for quality of the components used on the motherboard vs A300.
