This is a lot more usable + you can get 17" LCD's @ Goodwill for $10 all day. Edit: This is a great deal as well.

Mine ran pretty cool until the PSU fan died (only fan in the system). Than I had to zip-tie a fan on the HSF since the unit I bought to replace the old PSU had a 80MM exhaust and no intake. But now that I think about it, I use to get regular BSoD's before I put a fan on it. It was either...

The last fanless CPU I had in a PC, was a Gateway 2000. It came with a Pentium 233 MMX, 32MB RAM and a 1GB Quantum Fireball w/W95B.

I forgot to include the wife's 1080p HTPC. A64X2 4200+ Toledo @ 2.5GHz, 4GB DDR w/ 9800GTX. Streams You Tube and movies @ 1080p with no isssues. Firefox helps a lot with the interwebs paired w/ W764b.

I'm still rocking a PII X4 975BE @ 4GHz on my media server. With a H60, 8GB DDR3 AND 15 spinners on a 880G Asrock mobo. Handbrake runs 12hr a day on it. :p My daughter is rocking an Athlon X2 7750BE Kuma w/ 8GB DDR2, R9 270.

Getting screen tearing on 1080 Ti and FreeSync monitor

This is not correct. Adaptive VSync came out when Kepler was released in March of 2012 w/ the 300. driver branch. G-Sync came out in DIY kits in 2013, then it was included on monitors in 2015. Adaptive VSync has nothing to do with G-Sync...
