Thinking about a new budget home theater -- Anyone have a Samsung TXN3075?

Why do you overclock?

I still use a dual celeron 366@550 setup with an Abit BP6. I overclock so that I can decrypt more keys in RC5, and so that I don't have to build a new computer. It still fits my needs well.

Anyone else here losing hair (aka balding)? Do you take/do anything to slow/stop/reverse this?

Who is going to the North American International Auto Show??

I will be going. Normally I get tickets for the auto supplier days, and another ticket for general admission. But, this year my company isn't handing out free tickets to the employees. Darn, that means I have to buy the tickets myself ;)

Looks like the Alpha Pal 8045 has been dethroned, review of the new Swiftech MCX-462

It is an interesting heatsink, but overclockers.com has an article testing this to the MC462A. They rate the MC462A with a lower C/W than the MCX462, 0.30 vs 0.31. They drill a hole into the base of the HS, and insert a thermocouple.

Where did you acquire your technical savy?

Trial and error for me also. I made a lot of "mistakes", and learned from them. One thing that also helps is, that you shouldn't be afraid to fail or mess something up. My friends and family don't like to "poke around" with the computer because they think they might delete something or have...

I was in a situation like that. I was working really hard on the project, but my partner wasn't doing too much. I was spending all of my time working on it, and I did really bad on quizzes in other classes. That's when I just slowed down work on the project...I/we got a B on the project...

Making your own network cables is awesome :)

I have made a some, but have found that mine aren't always reliable. Sometimes you can just "jiggle" the connector, and lose continuity. So, if my network ever goes down(computer -> switch), I just jiggle the connector :( But, the ones that I have made most recently, are more reliable.
