I'm sorry I'm not Shakespeare, Tennyson or Larkin, And my words lack grace and rhyme. I'm old and thick, not in good nick, a captive of Old Father Time. I tried to write, It came out shite, My poem offended and my heart did break. I'll go back to reading fucking long jokes about a snake.

Mike Tyson vs Bruce Lee

I'd put money on Tyson just rushing Lee, grabbing him, throwing him into a wall, then pummelling the crap out of him. The man is (was) just too damn big and powerful. No amount of fancy skills and speed from a much smaller guy could stop that.

Why don't auto makers use the same turn signal relay for all cars?

Tone based speed test record

I use a strobe disc to set my gyrodec, but you can get test records, hi-fi news one is decent. I'm in the UK so have no idea if this USA source is anygood, it's the 1st one I found on google=) Test Records

Boot time slow?

I recently fitted a sata harddrive in my brothers pc, and just removed his ide drive ( old slow ). His pc would then take ages to boot....ended up that it was because there was a cdrom on the ide channel that was set as "cable select" on the jumpers, but plugged into "slave" on the cable...

Downloading all of windows update?

I used Autopatcher when I installed xp on my brothers pc a while ago. It has a menu system allowing selection of patches, updates and addons..overall a great idea.

60FPS? 80FPS? Who Cares!

Yeah, the type of game seems to make a big difference to perception of "smoothness". GPL runs at 36 fps max and feels slick enough, but fps type games do seem to need a lot more. It's all those 180 degree fast turns, I guess ( and the changes in framerate have an effect too).

60FPS? 80FPS? Who Cares!

I just tried the 60-80 test and I felt that the 80 fps was a little rougher, too.However, I have pretty poor eyesight, with one eye worse than the other....... so I closed one eye, and just tried to relax and not stare at the screen,... under those conditions, *maybe* the 80 fps looked a tiny...
