Quick question for you X chip owners. Have you ever seen your chip boost past the rated frequency? I have an 1800X and it never boosts past 4Ghz on single threaded workloads no matter what I do. I've changed power plans and that seems to have no effect. I have a fairly beefy TC14PE cooler on...

Both X58 and early X99 (not sure about now) are/were extremely picky about RAM. I personally I had a ton of issues on X58. RAM compatibility is always a problem on new platforms.

X370 Boards

What times we live in! Biostar's top being better than MSI? Jokes aside, I really think people don't give biostar enough credit or consideration. Granted I've never used anything other than their budget boards, I've never once had a problem. Can't say the same about MSI unfortunately.

Have any of you seen if the Gigabyte ax370 gaming 5 offer the same adjustable options for p-states, etc. as the asrock taichi? I like the simple look of the gigabyte boards more than the busy gears design Asrock has going, but the Asrock sounds like it has way more in terms of configurable...

I contacted Gigabyte tech and asked about their official statement ECC support on their X370 boards. At launch, the memory support documentation and specs indicated for the GA-AX370-Gaming 5 and K7 showed that ECC udimms were supported but would run in non-ecc mode. In response to my question...

Any idea if gigabyte x370 boards will end up supporting ecc udimms? Their site and manuals say ecc udimms operate in non-ecc mode, but I wonder if a bios update could possibly enable ecc functionality.
