Ran cinebebch 2 times and intel stress test 2 times. Max temps are with intel stress test @79, prime have 75 and cinebench 65s. Voltage is 1.20 set in bios adaptive, vid in hw monitor is max 1.245. Overclocked to 4.7 on cores and 4.4 on cache. On prime and intel stress test i have power...
Msi z370 pc pro + 8600k. I overclocked to 4.7 ghz and 4.4 ring cache. Max temp 74, with all case fans on. From time to time it is throtling even thou i pushed tdp max in bios from 95w to 110.
However i dont expect throtling in games, this is just prime stress test.
Voltage is set to 1.2 in...
You are missing a point. CL is timing. For example how many buses pass through a gate in 1 min. Bandwith is how many passengers a bus have. Games seems to scale more with bandwith, this is why you dont see 2133 in reviews.
Yes, CL has an impact in performance but its contribution is far less...
So it seems that next year amd will make cpus and gpus on 12 nm. This should keep close gap on intel but it isnt enough to save vega. Its too slow and not efficient.
Unfortunately, on a 5y pc upgrade i had to choose intel again because coffelake its better, but i see a good future for amd, and...
Memory bandwidth matters more than CL. This has been proven in the past years with ddr4. Also was proven that swwet spot for 6700k and 7700k is 3000 or 3200. Now its safe to asume that 8600k and 8700k need at least 3200, maybe 3600. Anything showing average fps is trash, one must to look at...
Agree. I for sure am looking at perf/$. So a 35$ cooler i get anyway for silence and it will help with overclocking. Z370 board is bought anyway, because i dont have anything else. So it all comes to paying 20% more for cpu for overall +2% performance, when i get overclocking for free. It could...
You are partially right, but:
- who stays with stock cooler? I plan to buy an aftermarket cooler anyway, for silence. So no extra money spendt here
- 3200 vs 3600, that was my original question. If i get extra performance it will be for both cpus, so i dont understand why you say that is needed...
So it seems it matters:
https://www.purepc.pl/procesory/test_procesora_intel_core_i5_8600k_rzeznik_zwany_coffee_lake?page=0,45
But that's just a pin point data, i would need to get more.
For example, i am consider it to buy Corsair 3000 Mhz CL16 or put 15% more money for the G skill Trident Z...
Anyone know how RAM speed matters in games, with 8600k or 8700k? I am looking for games with 3000mhz RAM vs 3600 or more. So far for kabylake i found that mostly matters for minimum fps around 5%
Why not buying an i3 if its kept on idle? Nobody cares. But performance/watt in load matters because we have 1 planet...and because of cooling, heat, noise, electricity bill, overclocking...
Dont confuse tdp with power consumption. Correct comparisson is 7700k with 8700k. 50% more cores for 8700k but also 32% more power is needed. Its a bit more efficient and performant but not quite there.

I put together the benchmarks made for 1440p resolution. Seems that 1080ti is not quite up for the test :D
https://youtu.be/G3st5QcU72c
I have the results for 1080p also (they are a lot more), so if you like please hit like or share, and I will find some time to put on charts for 1080p as well.
This what happens. You are complaining about AMD discussions here but forgot this aint 7700k thread either. Why newbies want to stay in front of the line?
I also say icelake will be probably lesser than coffe due to its difficult to improve nowdays even for intel. The process, its difficult. I wish for better performance ipc/frequency but it not gonna be there. This is an improvement for laptops.
I remember the hope for kabylake to bring...
Of course. Its the impact in performance one takes if it uses 4t, instead of 8. Anyway, ive said since ryzen was released: you are foul if you still buy the i5s. Thats obsolete product, at that price.

It does not matter how much, but what is parallelized. For example bf4 multiplayer: 1 and 2 core almost always stay at 100% on a very good graphics card and 5-8 will get between 0 and 10% usage. But if the cores 5-8 are not there, that will force the 10% workload to go to 1-4 hence interrupting...
Oh they will recover. You know why? Because they will lend the r&d tranzistor cost to Samsung. At the moment with their in house 14 nm they are behind intel, but Samsung has far more income per tranzistor developement due to mobile, so AMD Samsung will be more than an even match for intel...
I think more important than testing methodologies is that 3770k and 7700k are different designs which are made to function at specific frequency points. What I mean, is they need to test from stock 3700k to stock 7700k with incremental 100mhz. That will show how efficiency is across the range...
Omg, whats up with this ? Where is the liberty of speach? Do you want me to say Intel, intel, intel... Ryzen is better (oups..)

Hi,
Anyone playing Football Manager, and mind to run the benchmark on Ryzen?
