WOW, thanks... I haven't actually bought this board yet but was wanting to know if there is one... Does this unlock adjusting all cores to single core max? Does it add any voltage or anything (sorry if that sounds dumb but I lost following this thread a year or more ago!)
Has anyone modded the BIOS for the Huanan X99 - BIOS available here https://xeon-e5450.ru/socket-2011-3/huananzhi-x99-ad3/ It's a good spec and great price.
Does ANYONE have this working with LINUX? I know Windows loads the microcode but I need to be in Linux (UnRAID) and have that use KVM to load various VMs. So how do you load the microcode with Linux?

Might be dumb Qs but since people have to use UEFI boot to load the code,
1) anyone loading Vmware VSphere and then virtual machines (like Windows) successfully?
2) anyone chain-loading something like ReFit or Clover?

Is this tweak only working for EFI booted OS? I need to boot unRAID which loads from MBR FAT formatted USB sticks and then loads any VMs etc you might want...

As far as I can tell the process is
1) Take latest (?) BIOS for your mobo - flush CPU microcode (some s/w needed to do this)
2) Flash BIOS to mobo (ensure you have a dual BIOS board!) using some diff BIOS updater s/w (link?)...
