Ever since i upgraded my motherboard, occasionaly I get weird "vibrating" on my monitor. I figured it was just my old monitor going bad, so i bought a new one. Well it was going fine untill today i woke up turned it on and its doing the darn vibrating again! Now if i set it to 85Hz...
Well, I ajusted some settings on the motherboard, changed to the ViA AGP Standard instead of Turbo. And it does not vibrate atall at lower resolutions, but when i go from 1280x960 to 1280x1024 it begins vibrating like crazy again.
After upgrading my motherboard(K7T pro2-A and an athlon 1GHz) i started to notice the screen "vibrating" for no aparent reason sometimes. Sometimes its fine, sometimes i turn it on and it vibrates no matter WHAT i do to try to fix it, and then seems to go away as mysteriously as it...
I'm quite clueless as to what monitor I should be looking for. I'm looking for a flat screen with good resolution the least possible. I'v heard the Samsung SynchMaster 955df 19in flat screen monitor is a good one? Looking for one that will last a while, I'v had this NEC MultiSync C500 for a...
UGH! I'm running with everything now, ECEPT ultra DMA... I installed everything got it running and it stopped working, so on a hunch i disabled all udma support in bios. It just does not want to run ultra DMA!! Any suggestions? my drive is only ATA/66 I believe... is it perhaps trying to run...
Well, this IS a fresh install... it runs fine till I install the via drivers from the page... so I guess I just wont install those drivers heh. Oh well, windows 98 first edition ofcourse... had massie problems with second edition but perhaps it is time I upgraded,no? Also have a win2k cd, but...
Finaly got my board, set everything up, rebooted and BAMO it wouldent load windows. It gets past the loading screen then hangs with the hard drive LED stuck on. So, I reboot... to safe mode and remove the ViA busmaster and reboot... loads SLOWLY with occasional stops, but it DOES load. Yet...
well even if it does not cause problems, I notice formatting to remove residue does provide much better performance in the past. I was just looking for a solution to get the performance up and resolve possible conflits without formatting... but if it does not give you problems do not sweat it.
Great, thank you... I hate having to reinstall tons and tons of software and find the serial#s for all of them repeatedly, it becomes QUITE annoying. I do realise many people purge every 6 months and reformat and reinstall for the heck of it. Its just too much of a pain when things are running...
Expecting my new motherboard any day now, I'm trying to prepair in advance. Previously, I have always either picked up a new harddrive before installing a new motherboard or formatted before install. Rite now, I do not have the money to spare for a new harddrive. Basicaly what i'm getting at...
Well, as I understand it... you wont get a verry accurate judge of how hot the processor is with this board because the heat monitor is slightly below the chip itself. Makes sense to me, but I could be misinformed.
Alright, you sold me... going for the MSI. I could wait for the next generation of boards, and chipsets... sure, but like all new things there will be problems and bugs to work out. So, definately going with the MSI... thank you all! :)
I verry much apreciate the input there, and seeing that the MSI is the most stable system you have run on in a long time is verry reassuring. Thank you for the input! :)
one point I would like to adress though... on the MSI boards, does the built in sound on it take away from the processor...
Yeah its true enough, One thing about the MSi board I do not like is the Chip Integrated audio. That always tends to suck resources regardless of it being active or not. Is it possible to get the motherboard without it?
Everyone here seems to know what they're talking about, so I thought I'd ask. My last experience with AMD processors was my old K6-2 400 on an EPOX(*shudder*) motherboard. I must say that I had SO MANY problems with it, I thought I would never go AMD again. But now I am back, willing to give...
