Yeah... I used to buy more more on the value side of things. Probably why I'm an AMD fan. That made a lot more sense when I upgraded every 6 months. Now, I'm far more limited on time than money, so this is what happens.

Where to look for donor drives?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00450CKHC/ You may be able to see if Seagate can tell you if any other drives from same era/series use the same drive heads. Looks like the ST3160023A might be similar enough.

I appreciate the info, Interitus. I've been leaning more and more to that case (but with the Tempered glass). I was thinking I'd use a 360 radiator, and probably just end up doing AIO. That Core X9 looks nice, but I'm kinda stuck on tempered glass - gotta have something to narrow my selection...

Just an update - It almost completely works... Everything works smoothly, except one of my monitors uses an HDMI->DVI converter that I forgot about, and that monitor gets a pink hue to everything.

Need a password manager

keepass - it's free, works on mac (with mono) and PC. I have my keyfile stored on dropbox so it synchronizes with multiple computers. I also keep a copy of the program and my key file on a usb drive attached to my car keys.

I'm not entirely sure how you've installed programs that you don't know the names, but I can't imagine it being that hard to find on Win 8 vs Win 7. 1. Just look for it on your start screen. I like being able to organize all my commonly used apps in the front, which for me, works better...

In case anyone cares, I've got it up and running. Overall, it was a relatively painfree process. Only issue thus far is that my Radeon Control panel complains each boot that it cannot run on the currently installed drivers/platform, so I'm unable to change any settings through the control...

I haven't tried Windows 8 yet, and it's not entirely the motivation for upgrading the system. If I get it all setup and don't like it, I'd probably revert back to Windows 7. Those are some interesting stats, I'll have to figure out if that performance for $270 is a better choice than just...

Holy Moly, is Eclipse the worst IDE ever?

I used to use eclipse, but I've switched to Sublime Text 2. It's so much faster and more enjoyable to use. I don't think it has all the same features, and setup is a bit more complex initially, but I sure like it. (This is for writing coldfusion)

Hi Fade - http://www.kittywireless.com/ (they're a reseller for page plus, on verizon network). Your main ATT phone will probably provide you with the ability to use any SIM for prepaid worldwide. Having access to verizon could benefit when there is poor service or something.
