COD4 SP Campaign final thoughts

That city (Pripyat) exists in reality and the city in the game actually resembles the real one. I've been to Pripyat two months ago and actually recognized quite a few places in the game!

Decision to make, help needed!

OK, I have been away from the hardware and gaming world for a while due to various reasons, but now I want to re-start gaming. I guess I have three choices: 1) Buy a new PC. My current PC (Athlon 800, G400 Max) doesn't cut it anymore, so I have to spend quite a lot of money to be "competitive"...

EA Sports games and Savage IX

I have a HP Omnibook XE3 laptop with the S3 Savage IX video chipset. Most games run ok in lower resolutions. Especially the EA Sports games are fine speedwise though I have one serious problem with some of them (Madden 2002, NHL 2000-2002): the screens becomes "flickery" when beginning the game...

There is a German webshop that sells exactly what you want (PAL 6035+612NGML): Levermann. But I don't know for sure whether they ship to the U.S. and if so, expect premium prices...

All Papst fans with the letters "NG" behind the numbers indicating the size and voltage of the fan (612, 8412, ...) use a special Sintec Sleeve bearing no other fan manufacturer I know uses (I think "N" stands for "New" or something like that and I'm pretty sure...

Question for Gizzo or Papst owners

Most of my Papst fans don't have RPM sensoring but some have. Like GiZzO I think almost any common Papst fan is somewhere available with that option, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I'd suggest to get the 8412NGM instead of the 8412NM. I'd take Sleeve-Sintec bearing over Double-Ball-Bearing any time...

The Papst fan has 28 dbA as well. And I'm pretty sure it blows AT LEAST as much air as the Sanyo Denki just because it's a Papst fan...

FOP 32-1 is too LOUD!

Thermaltake Volcano II, any good???

One more opinion on the V2's clip: I think it's very good and definitely one of the best I've seen lately. Installation was very easy and absolutely without risk for my T-Bird.

What sound does a Delta fan relate to?

I'd say it sounds like an airplane starting a few meters next to you...well, maybe not, but for me even the 36 dBA Y.S.Tech fan (FOP-32 instead of 38) is too loud. I once heard a Delta as well, it was horrible. I can't even imagine owning a PC with a Delta fan inside...

I really can't understand you guys. My Volcano II was sooo easy to install and I don't think the pressure of my clip is too low because the temperatures are good.

Just 10 minutes ago I installed a Volcano II and I have to say it's been one of the easiest heatsink installations I've ever done (only Pentalpha SK155 was as easy). The clip is much better than what I was used to by Global Win, Alpha, Coolermaster, ...

NicColt, I just looked at the site behind your link and one comment: What you shouldn't do again is applying thermal paste to the whole bottom of the heatsink. You should rather apply it to the core of your CPU and then install the CLEAN heatsink.

Best game you have ever played

Definitely NHL94&95 (very similar, basically the same game). Played FAR more than 1000 hockey matches with these games and the all-time highlight of my PC gaming "career" remains a Stanley Cup Final series against a friend in NHL95 were we battled for almost 6 overtime sessions...

Problem with Holywood+ DVD Decoder card

Well almost everyone gets unusable 2D-quality when using the H+ with the pass-through cable. I think the card is intended for use with a TV and it works great then.
