missing dll, found it elsewhere, but confused!!

The missing file is the visual basic 6 runtime library. You can download the installer here. Hope this helps. :)

Need help with my monitor..

Is the screen a rainbow of colors when you first start the machine (i.e. before Windows), or just in Windows itself? If this is a problem only within Windows, then your video card drivers have probably become corrupt, and you'll need to reinstall the drivers. Good luck. :)

Zip drives

It sounds like the Iomega tools won't let you assign a drive letter that isn't contiguous with the other drive letters already defined on your system. I'm not sure if this is a known problem or not with the Iomega software, but a visit to their website wouldn't hurt. For the meantime, however...

Have you tried changing it to a letter other than "z" (such as "q" or something)? It would be interesting to see if it allowed you to change the drive letter at all.

If the modem is not listed in device manager... The modem might not be a plug and play modem, and it probably was not properly configured by the person you bought the system from. If this is the case, jumpers on the modem itself might have to be set in order to indicate a specific COM port and...

What's my RAM speed?

If you mix different speeds of RAM on the same computer, the higher speed RAM will default to the lower speed. Hence the reason why your friend's RAM is shown as being 100MHz as opposed to 133MHz.

Is there such a thing as a "Mac Emulator"

Check out this site. They make a Mac emulator called SoftMac 2000 which supposedly can run any Mac application faster than a Mac itself. You can download the application from the above web page. Hope this helps. :)

What settings are you trying to run the game at? Try running the game at the lowest settings possible (640x480 @ 16bpp, detail settings set to low) and see if that works. If it does, your card probably doesn't have enough power to run the game at higher settings.

Generally, if your hard drive is being accessed more than usual, it means that you don't have enough RAM for what you are trying to do. As a result, the program has to constantly access the hard drive for the information as opposed to getting it from your RAM. A RAM upgrade should definitely...

My PC won't boot up after I just installed a P3 700 on my ABIT - BX6 Rev. 2

The PC doesn't boot at all? As in, no power is being supplied to the components? Did you just replace the processor? Is it possible that something is touching your motherboard that shouldn't be (such as a loose screw)? Is the motherboard mounted correctly in your case?

I'm not sure about your particular speakers, but some have a surround control that you can adjust to balance the sound between your rear/front speakers. On my Klipsch 4.1 speakers, the knob is right by the volume/subwoofer controls. If your speakers have a surround control, try adjusting it...

Will existing hard drive work on new system?

As everyone else said - the hard drive will work fine, but definitely don't use the restore disc. The computer you are building will probably have entirely different parts than your eMachine, and using the restore disc will not make it easier on you. I'd just install a fresh version of Windows...
