Intel price cuts in April - Worth the wait?

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm planning on grabbing an e4300 once they drop to $133, which I heard is part of the scheduled drop. My HTPC just died on me, though, so it's going to be tough to wait.

$50 for opening a money market account

Heh, guess I didn't explain: My plan was to drop $500 in for 2 months then cancel the account. $50 - $20 (for 2 months worth of $10 fee) = $30 profit. Still not bad for $500 invested over 2 months. See any problems with that plan?

What programming language to study?

Another vote for Python. Again, it depends on what you want to accomplish. For new programmers, Python and Ruby will probably be *kinder* than hard-core C or C++.

Selling Software as a Fundraiser

I quit buying software on ebay when CD burners became cheap enough for home users to buy. Now, you NEVER get legit copies of stuff. I use http://gametz.com for any games I want now (as well as Anandtech forums). I've traded about 10 times and been very pleased every time.

Thanks for the help. This is similar to what I was hoping for. I have a series of very detailed postcard images that I want users to be able to navigate within via a page on my website, so this helps. Bummer you can only see one tile at a time though.

Just a viewer. Ideally, I would upload a picture to the server and the viewer would dislpay it and allow navigation and zooming. I'm hoping to put this on my website, so I can install scripts or whatever is necessary. I'd prefer to host it on my server and not link to an outside tool.

Computer smells burned. Ideas?

I should have posted some pictures of inside of PSU. I opened it up and saw scorch marks inside. The PCB (I think) was white, so the brown scorch marks were very easy to see. That's what I get with a piece of junk PSU that came with a crappy bargain case. Works for 4 months then craps out.

And the culprit is...the PSU!! I replaced the mobo and it still didn't work. This time, though, the fans did start spinning at least. However about 30 secs after I started it up, I started smelling the burned smell again. Since I had the case open, I went smelling. CPU - no bad smell...

Sorry about the delay, I just got home. The PSU is a Skyhawk Power One, with max output power of 385-425W. However!!! I don't think the PSU is the problem. Based on the advice to look for bad capacitors, I got out the flashlight and went looking, here's what I saw...

Maybe I'll see if I can borrow a PSU from work to test with. Splitting up the drives won't work, since they are in an LVM (kind of like a sofware RAID). Thanks again for the ideas and warnings.
