Agreed that ATI has been doing a crappy job and should be the ones kicked. However I see just as many good posts as bad posts in the various forums I visit for Radeon or nvidia. It amazes me that people can feel so threatened that someones benchmark might be better than their own.

I have no doubt that some people need 16bit for certain games. That has nothing to do with the fact that the only cards that look good in 16bit are the Voodoo cards ;)
As for 16bit on the Radeon my experience has been limited to one game: NOLF. It looked like crap but that was an...
I think that basing your buying decision on benchmarks, unless you are a really hardcore gamer, is not the most intelligent thing to do. I've never had an nvidia board. I replaced my v3-2k with one of the newegg Radeon LE boards and it kicks ass. Smooth as silk and I haven't had any problems...
I just called up and told them that they shipped me an Radeon LE and advertised a regular Radeon. After being asked what I wanted them to do I asked would it be easier for them to refund me some money since they shipped me a lower-end board or have me send it back? They refunded me $20.

Aside from them acting like jerks I'd go on what you've been reading here and hopefully the thread about this card in the video forum. The card still kicks ass. Obviously the clocking issue can be solved via Powerstrip as can the registry entries (with various apps) for HyperZ...
As an update: I ordered this card on 1/3 for around $123 or so. Called newegg to complain about the descrepency between what the web site advertises and what I was shipped. They gave me a $20 credit. Didn't feel like pushing my luck to try to get more and end up with nothing. I didnt want...
Damn. Think I was the first one to post here a little over a month ago about newegg having this card. I bought mine for about $120 then and it didnt (and still doesnt) say anything about 'Radeon LE' on their website. I feel bad because so many people got duped by these losers but on the other...
I ordered from newegg several weeks ago when the price was $120 for the radeon. Before the card shipped the price had dropped and I called them and they gave me the diff back. Was very satisfied with them.

The human digestion system can easily be vegetarian if one chooses. All of the compenents that are found in animal flesh can be found elsewhere. Our system is designed to digest both type of food. I agree with you about the disconnection between society and its food production but...

If you really belong to those organizations you claim to you would definitely understand the points being made by PETA against Burger King. You'd also understand that current animal food production is not good for the environment. Humane treatment of food animals should be the...
If people can eat as much high cholesterol foods as they wish without consequence (which you seem to be saying here) can you explain why so many people have heart disease? It artery plaque just a figment of the imagination? Our systems cannot handle overloads of anything. If people would...
Yes the RAM was a great deal but a roll of the dice on whether it really works or not ;) At least upgradeplanet was cool about the return. Guy on the phone was real nice. Got my memory from crucial.com. Yes I paid $144 for 1 stick of 256mb cas2 but its real PC133 and it shipped in a box...

You're better off eating certain kinds of fish by far than you are eating beef. There is a reason why the Japanese used to be the healthiest (not so anymore because of bullsh*t like McDs)....eating lots of fish. Good source of Omega3 which nobody gets enough of in this culture.

One point....the best non-animal protein source is soy ;) Its the only complete protein that isnt animal meat. Good post tho (even tho we are totally off-topic)
You people crack me up. PETA is calling for *ethical treatment* of animals (for the mentally challenged thats what the ETA stands for).....not giving up meat. If anyone actually read that site it would be obvious that they're not trying to put Burger King or anyone else out of business. What...
Look at the memory roundup from april on anandtech. In some cases speed can be 13% higher between 2 and 3. Not sure how often that would happen tho.
Someone else had a messed up package as well...guess I wasnt the only one. Mine looked like it was run over.
I've had no problems at all with the pro2a. I was scared to death after I ordered it reading all the bad posts here but the upgrade for me went painlessly. Hell, I even have win98 running on there after being moved from an Abit board and it works fine. I'm sure theres not a board out there...
Yeah...$150 is incredible. I am not complaining at all....just sharing my experience with UpgradePlanet. At prices like that it was a roll of the dice. Had it worked great. It didn't and thats also fine. I'll get my money back so nothing lost except the cost of shipping the ram back to...
I'm planning on returning mine and buying RAM elsewhere. Was wary when the sticks showed up looking like they had already been in a machine so I wasnt too surprised they didnt work. When I actually looked at the envelope they shipped in it looked like it had been run over ;) Not that that...
Well....received my memory today and both chips were DOA. Tried reseating them many times, trying one at a time, etc. Why does this not surprise me? ;)
Someone else mentioned in this thread that the chips they received appeared to have been in a system already. Couldnt find that post but I wanted to know from that person if the memory worked. I also received memory that looks like it was in a system already (either I got used memory or they...

What problems did you have with the mx300? I'm not very happy with the onboard sound and games (have lots of audio stuttering/glitching on No One Lives Forever) so I was gonna put my mx300 back in the system.
Um....overnight shipping only counts once its out the door. They dont guarantee any sort of schedule before then according to an email I received from them. Mine is supposed to be here on the 15th according to the tracking email I received.
Oh. heh. for some reason I missed that last sentence where you said you were actually in holland ;) good reason to be wary. I figure its legit as two of us received ddr boards. cant imagine they'd sell ddr to some and sdr to others.

out of curiousity - besides maybe a benchmark how exactly can you tell the difference between cas2 and cas3 memory? what kind of visible performance gain do you get by running cas2?
Card came in a white box. only other thing it had was a installation cd. How many replies are you going to expect saying they're shipping ddr before you believe its ddr?
badthad-
I wrote up a rather large reply and then cancelled it. All other things being equal trying to run cas3 memory at cas2, regardless of speed (and 124mhz is certainly not a large drop from 133), is a crap shoot. You either get lucky or you dont (and they never advertised them as cas2...

If you ordered from newegg.com is there some reason you think they'd send me a DDR board and not send you one?
As I said...best way to test is to look up the ram part #s. thats the *only* way to tell for sure.
The way to test it is looking at the ram chips and then looking at the manufacturer website for those part #s.
As to the clock speed from what I've seen the only 183 card is the 64mb ddr *retail*. The rest (32mb ddr/sdr oem/retail, etc) are all 166 but can be overclocked pretty decently. the...
Uh...dunno about the other memory but boosting your FSB to 124 doesnt not mean the chip is working below spec!! You're overclocking the CPU that way! The Athlon doesnt talk directly to the memory...it talks to the VIA chipset which in turn talks to the memory. So by setting your FSB to 124...
I can verify that the OEM Radeon board I received from newegg.com is indeed 32MB DDR.
Samsung memory part # on the chips is:K4D62323HA
As can be seen here this conforms to the 64 Mbit DDR SDRAM.
