How do I install Nvidia drivers in XP?

Thats exactly what I did. Is there something you have to do before hand? I installed these non- self extracting drivers a couple months ago, but I tried to update and it diverted to the original XP drivers and I cant get back to the new ones! This is crazy. There has to be a way around it.

I have a GTS, and every time when I try to install the video drivers from Nvidia, I do this: Right click on My computer, go to properties, then to the device manager, then video card, and update driver, I dont let it search, I find it for it, then it installs the drivers, but after the install...

Computer freezes for 10-15 seconds while CDROM spins up and down and up again. Any idea why? (Asus50x)

If it happens during bootup, the most likely cause is that in your BIOS you have your CDROM set to be the first option to boot off of, instead of your HD. This used to happen to me until I changed it to the HD to be the first option to boot off of. Look in your BIOS and it should be under...

Poll: what's your HD size

I have a 20GB in 2 partitions. One of them is 19GB and the other is 1GB, my 1Gigger is for drivers and downloaded demos. Including the space that is taking up, I have 14.4 GB left, I will NEVER use this much space, unless we get satellite internet soon.

NEW CPU or NEW VIDEO CARD?

With a Celeron 450 and a new video card, you arent going to get good performance, even if it is a GF2. I would buy a PIII 700Mhz, your system will be good, even with the Expert 2000.

How bad is the matrox g450 for 3d gaming?

With my PIII 600E, I played all games at 1280x1024 and usually 32bit color, using a Diamond Viper V770 Ultra (TNT2 Ultra) and games ran fine, including quake3, with all detail up.

Elsa Gladiac - Un-Seating from AGP Slot

Im having the EXACT same problem with my Gladiac!! It wouldnt post, so I reseated it and it worked, I boot it up the next time, it doesnt work, turn it off, turn it back on it works. Then I put in my TNT2 Ultra, and it works fine, now my Gladiac is in and havent had any problems in a few days.

NO! Dont get it from there if it is the bare card. At buy.com and computers4sure.com you can get the RETAIL version of the 64MB VIVO for $210, it comes just like it would if you were buying it from a store. Much better deal.

tigerdirect's P3 1gig w/820 mobo and 128rdram

You are probably screwed if you want to send it back. I bought a faulty motherboard from them, and couldn't send it back, we had the receipt and everything. We tried to get a hold of the President of the company, but he wouldnt respond. I wouldnt dare buy from TigerDirect again.

Upgrading 600E ?

the 100Mhz FSB on the Celerons still wont make them anywhere near as fast as the PIII. I would go for the 850PIII, I have the 600E just like you on a VIA board, you can maybe overclock that thing to 800Mhz, that is what I can do on mine.

CPU upgrade: Should I buy a Slot A 750 and overclock it or just pay a little bit more and get a 900?

I dont think there is a 900Mhz PIII, I think there is an 866 and a 933. The 700e usually overclocks to 933 for most people, so the 750 would probably go higher, its kind of a hard choice. You are referring to a PIII right? It says Slot 1 so I figure you are. If it is an Athlon, go for the 750.

Need help optimizing Viper TNT2 Ultra

Jeez, your score IS low! I get 3164 on a PIII 600 and no overclocking on anything. Try the NVidia 5.22 drivers, and get the 4in1 drivers from www.viatech.com. The Detonator 3 actually lower performance on cards lower than the GeForce.

Difference between Trinitron and FD Trinitron?

The FD Trinitron is perfectly flat, providing better picture, the regular Trinitron is just vertically flat (I think it is vertically)

Viper 770 Ultra drivers?

I use the 3.68 for regular stuff, but for benchmarking, I use either the 5.13 or the 5.22 drivers from NVIDIA

3D Mark LOW on NIIICE system Why?

paruhdOx - Your score is very low, I get higher than that with a 600Mhz PIII and a TNT2 Ultra. Get the NVidia Detonator 6.34 drivers from Here , and install the 4.25 4in1 drivers. With your system, your score should be 6000-7000. Oh, and PC133 will make a difference, just not all that much...
