Checked in at 20/10 three weeks ago. No near/far sightness. I can see great in the dark, but not too well on really bright sunny days without a good pair of shades.
If you want to drive Maggies loud and clean you will need a separate amp or a strong receiver. I don't believe any of the $1000 receivers will drive them cleanly with good results. I don't think Magnapane has center channel spkrs, been awhile since I surfed around thier site.
Of the two...
Chinman,
I looked around and cannot find where I read about the Marantz's. I do recall reading about them being updated to include DTS-ES and DPL-II. With the DPL-II I would figure on late summer early fall before seeing them.
Flood,
I did consider the Maggies as they also were a very good...
Speakers:
not on your list, but VERY worthy of an audition are Vandersteen 2Ce Signatures, around $1500. Vandersteen Speakers Incredible speakers at thier price point, I haven't heard anything in this price range come near to their sound. Kinda big, but they will amaze you.
Or save some bucks...
The motherboard I installed is the IWill KK266. Like DocSergeant said and what Colorcase told me, the standoffs are supposed to be metal to ground the MB preventing build up of static electricity. Colorcase's response email was prompt and explained my questions. Thier suppliers do not carry...
I also use Cookie Pal. Works great. There is a 30-day trial version you can download at Kookaburra, which continues to work after the trial period is up. But it is cheap to register and you don't have to wait for the "register now" screen to clear.
That's my case, man that thing sells out quick! I had a pleasure dealing with ColorCase. Mine was backordered also with a next shipment date of Jan 30,01. They received them mid-Jan and I had it in my hands around Jan 23rd. I posted my thoughts of this case here. I need to update it though...
I ordered a MB from MicroPro by phone on a Thursday, sales rep said they had 6 in stock and I would have it by Wednesday. The Thursday after it was due to me I called them up and found out they were backordered, "something wrong with the truck in California, they will be here on...
The IWill KK266 is a regular KT133A board that sells for about $140. The IWill KK266-R is the RAID version which sells for a little more, but still cheaper than the ABIT RAID. Most of the pics I have seen of the IWill are of the RAID variety.
My home, I'm with vi:
<< I'll just be messing it up again in another 16 hours >>
unless I am expecting company.
At girlfriends: gotta make every morning or she gets pissed at me. One of these days I am going to make it out of bed before her so she gets stuck with it. :)
Seeing as I need an ISA Slot and only two of these boards offer it and one of those (EPOX) got spanked by the other(ABIT) in test's my choice was easy.
Wait can I change my vote? I just got the IWill KK266. Found it before I could find an ABIT and cheaper!
Though I don't now much of anything about her see did PM me the answer to a question I posted the other day.
BTW, WW if you are reading this thanks for the info. I accidentaly lost (deleted) the PM before I could reply.
Be careful with Harmon Kardon. They have one of the best and smoothest amplifier sections you could ask for, better than any of the receivers listed on this thread so far. Unfortunately their quality as plumeted over the past few years and their customer service isn't much better. If you go...
<< Hey grouch how do you like those bass shakers? What do you use em for? I've thought they were interesting and for about $30 a pair they are pretty cheap. >>
I use them when I am watching DVD's and on some PS Games. I have two mounted to the frame on my long couch and one on my short...
DAM, what vi_edit said.
I understand he sawed off his hand by accident. When that occurred I think I would have started out calling for help. Not walking over, picking up a nail jail and intentionally filling my head with a dozen nails to make the pain of my hand go away.
Yep, same thing happened with Beavis and Butthead when it came out. It was hilarious, then MTV lamed it down because idiots were trying to do what a cartoon was doing. :| It sucked after that. I am suprised it didn't have too much of an effect on South Park, thank goodness!
Doesn't JA come...
Though discontinued the DB-930 is a good choice with a quality amp section and a large number of features for the price. The remote takes some getting used to, for most people it is a love/hate thing. For $400 would be difficult to find anything better. Only others in this price range that I...
This is my amateur review of Colorcase.com and their Neo Classic I, as I told the members in this thread I would do. This is the first computer that I have built and decided to build it when I saw the Neo Classic I case.

When I get the case I will post my thoughts of it here. I have spoken with their customer sevice twice so far and was very pleased.
Edit: The pricelist shows a few of their cases as sold out. Check the availability on their website. Some of those (if not all) are back in...
