Does 560 ti 1gb slied= 2gb vram?

Since each of the GPU's is on its own memory bus it needs a local copy of everything. Even on a dual GPU card.

Correct. Just use a DisplayPort cable. Also the adapter you ordered from Newegg doesn't look like an Active adapter. It should say Active on it if it is, and it should cost $25-$30 for a single link active adapter. If you still can, you should cancel that order, and order a DisplayPort...

Eyefinity and my rig

It needs to be an Active DP->DVI adapter. Not sure which one you have. But if it's passive it won't cut it. The GPU can only send 2 DVI/HDMI signals at once, the rest have to be native DisplayPort, so you need an active adapter that can take a DP signal and convert it to DVI. A passive one...

You should only get the screen tearing if you are in Eyefinity mode. If you are in extended desktop mode, you shouldn't get tearing on any of them. If you are in Eyefinity mode, you can go into CCC -> Desktop Management, then at the bottom of that page it should have your 3 monitors listed...

I actually get the same thing. Apparently the problem is, if using mixed connections (some DVI, some DP), one of them will not be able to be v-synced. The ATI CCC actually has an option for which Eyefinity monitor you want to be the 'primary' and get the best quality (ie guaranteed v-sync)...

No, but if you're gaming the sizes won't match up quite right so it will look a little weird. You also won't be able to turn on bezel compensation. If you're using monitors you already have sitting around it's something you can live with but if buying new I'd try to match up size as best you can.

The Radeon 6970 has 2GB of RAM running at 1375 MHz clock speed. That slider you're adjusting in MSI Afterburner is the clock speed the 2GB of memory is running at, not how much of it to use.

AMD HD 7***: wait or upgrade now

If you're using a DisplayPort cable from Monoprice, they used to have a design flaw that could give some issues (it was missing one of the grounding pins). I don't know if they ever fixed it, but after I replaced my Monoprice cable I never had an issue with my DisplayPort monitor again.

Trouble in Paradise [No POST, Hard Shutdown, perhaps GPU related?]

It actually sounds like a bad PSU to me. I had one dying on me that on boot it would take 15 minutes of power cycling to get it to get to POST then it would be ok for a few hours then crash and make me power cycle for 15 minutes again. After a couple months of that it would never make it to POST.
