I got a postcard which said they did not recieve a packing slip with my rebate request, which was not true. The rebate status at rebatestatus.com was in my "business" name, it said my Customer Account Number and Order Number are not valid.
I enclosed the original packing slip, how could...
Sears price is $759.xx - 10% (Sat morn till 10:00 only) = $684
CC price is $799.XX
This should PM down to $672 today. $100 MSN reward in Feb.
I was able to PM after 10:00 A.M., though somehow the CC CSR calculated my PM only to $689.
I just received 2 GC68s from SVC and was curious about how the finish on the bottom affected CPU temps.
I lapped one GC68 to a mirror finish and left the other one stock. I then ran the Sandra burn in wizard for 20 iterations for each one while monitoring the temps. The test setup was a...
CDW must have gotten some P910s returned because there was one waiting for me when I got home to replace the out of focus B Stock one I sent back. I haven't found anything wrong with this one.
The P910 B Stock price is currently $139.68. This could be a warm to hot deal if you like to...
My CDW account mgr, Dione, called today to tell me there were no replacements for my B Stock P910 that I RMAd. They would let me apply the amount I paid for the P910 towards one of their other monitors and they would not charge me shipping. What a deal!
The B Stock monitor I received had been...
I am also not happy with my P910 monitor; text is so blurry/out of focus in the middle of the screen that it is unusable. This is a B-Stock model. It was obviously returned after being opened.
It's going back; I wonder what they will replace it with?
There are two separate rebates listed at Ben's site. This one from Maxtor and this one from Staples. Staples may accept a copy of the UPC for their rebate; it would certainly be worth an email request to Staples.rebates@parago.com. See post #13 here.
How dare he admit his company had a pricing error! All of the bigger companies would just string you along for several weeks and then say they were all out of the product and didn't expext to have anymore. How does expect to succeed using tactics like that?
I just received my 10 nics from Dell on order #717519***. I ordered these with the shipping cost before I found out about the small business free shipping option. I'm still waiting for the other 5 nics I ordered through small business minutes later just for good measure.
I had the "no video" problem with a refurbed K7S5A MB from Newegg. I was using an AMD approved (Athlon to 1G) PS with a Duron 750 and no tricks from the OCworkbench forums would get it to work. I RMA'd it back to newegg. No problems with the rev 5 MB now. I believe ECS is up to Rev 7 now...
I received that MB from overstock a week ago to replace a failed integrated PC chips POS MB for my niece at college. It worked fine using a Cel 300a @464, VooDoo Velocity 100, and a huge soundblaster ISA card (it had a volume control on it) canned from a junk computer, and a Linksy nic.
It...
I also got in on the laptop memory deal and the sticker on that stick of memory reads:
Centon
Electronics Inc.
128MB 146155
128MBT100
GIRAV4VDA
No Warranty If Removed
Which is the same as Northland's. I
The "55" of "14655" was somewhat blurred and could easily be mistaken for "66". I used...
If anyone needs some ram for a "beater" system:
Go to Circuit City, search for Centon 128MB PC133, order it for 27.99, checkout using instore pickup (pick a store where you will be doing some last minute shopping, this is not worth a special trip). Print out and complete the $15 Centon and...
Both of my speaker orders are now cancelled; one was to be shipped tommorow! The warehouseperson was probably just about to pack my first order when it was wiped off the screen.
Now I am waiting for my two orders of Belkin nics (15 total) which are just "delayed" but will surely be shipped...
I had two separate orders (1 ea) minutes apart about the same time as jtallon (~6 A.M. CST), one shows a ship date of 12/21/2001, the other order had the shipping date revised to 01/02/2002.
About 5 co-workers in my office took part in this deal at my suggestion, and at least two (one blindly cut out the UPC without looking at the box) got retail 60 GB 7200 Maxtor drives substituted. Of course, I told them they should be prepared to complain to OD when their rebates get rejected...
Has anyone heard anything about the Argus DC3150 1.3 MegaPixel camera? I'm looking for something to spend my $50 gift certs on and this camera looked good for my son to use to get pics on his skateboard website.
The reviews at 800.com seem fishy since all were posted on the same day. All...
This is what everyone got in a similar situation with Dell and the 1 GB Kingston SDRAM fiasco last July:
"Dear Dell Customer,
Thank you for choosing Dell for your recent software and accessories
purchase. We regret to inform you that a vendor error created erroneous
price quotes for the...
I got an cc0 566 Celeron working in a BM6 by jumpering AH4 to X4 (soldered a jumper on back of the MB). Here is a link showing the pin locations: Link.
Have you tried looking in the Abit newsgroups?
Thanks, but a search for "SDSM64490-64meg Sandisk Smart Media" does not find anything. I can find that item if I search "Sandisk" and then view the list of all items. All of the Sandisk Smartmedia cards are out of stock, and all of the others cards found when I search "Smartmedia"under...
Sorry for the late reply.
The ram was some PC 100 Siemens (Infineon) in a Aopen AX6BC EZ (Shopps computer - Hot Deals).
The copper plate was cut from sheet stock obtained from a hobby shop.
You have the KT133 version, the K7VZA KT133A (version 3) supports a "266 MHz" FSB.
You can either exchange your processor for a "200 MHz" 1GHz Athlon or exchange your motherboard for a KT133A to achieve the correct cpu frequency. The KT133A solution will provide better...
My 533 Celeron could hit 1034 MHz @ 1.95 volts.
I used a thin copper plate ("cold plate") sandwiched between the Taisol 3092 hsf and cpu to get it above 952. The metal surfaces were lapped to a near mirror finish with Artic Silver used between the mating surfaces.
