Saving settings / extensions in Firefox (was: Firefox SUCKS when you reformat!)

During the installation, if you choose to use the same settings/bookmarks for all users, everything is stored in the program directory. Otherwise, it stores everything in the user's application data folder under documents and settings.

There's xplorer² from the same people as 2xExplorer (found in the big free software thread). You can have 2 explorer panes open in a single window. You can download the free "lite" version and the old 2xExplorer, as well. I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for, but it's better than...

Which Mythtv linux distro?

KnoppMyth has to be installed to disk to work, the CD just takes care of most of the difficulty in configuring MythTV. The only thing that can be run from the CD is the frontend, which requires a fully configured backend to be running on the network.

McAfee VirusScan: DAT & SuperDAT downloads are free for only a year?

I think it just refers to using the auto-update feature in Virus Scan to update your virus definitions. They still have the downloads for all of the DATs and Super-DATs on their site, which are free. So, you can keep manually updating your virus definitions and scanning engine for free.

Is there any way to convert Works files to Word???

As stupid as it sounds, I don't think the Works text converer get installed with Word by default. So, if you want to open Works files in Word, you have to chose custom installation when installing Office and find the Works converter. I know that is the case with Office 97 and 2000, but I'm not...

It's definitely the Klez virus. It typically adds a file named wink**.exe or wink***.exe. The last 2 or 3 letters are usually random, which is why you usually won't find any specific results searching google.

I'm not sure why your auto-update isn't working. If you click on the link for the DAT updates for version 6, the next page will say "DAT files for version 6 and higher" or something like that.
