From what I remember in cpu-z the dimms were at 200mhz DDR. They are pc 3200. Ive got 1 dimm on memtest now which is telling me it's running at 201mhz so that's fine. All settings are on Auto in the bios now like they were when i had 2 dimms in there.

The driver won't let me set it to 75 unless I uncheck the "Hide modes that the monitor cannot display". I'll try it and let you guys know if the problem persists.

I've seen the same thing happen when drives are misconfigured via jumpers(Master/Slave/Cable Select). Though when I've seen this , the pc didn't progress very far into bootup because the drives were misconfigured.

I'd say the opposite. If you're running at 400 FSB you'll want to match the Memory bus to it. If you can't afford 1 GB of PC 3200 buy one stick now and add one later when you can.

I'd make sure that you installed your heatsink on your gpu correctly. Are the beeps in question one long beep followed by 2 short beeps? I'd try the video card in another system if possible just to be sure.

Like I said , technically your warranty would be voided by using a 3rd party HSF but AMD would never find that out unless you tell them. I think the same applies for AS.

Like ITMpls said , the easiest way to narrow it down is if you try it on another PC. It's almost definitely the mouse if it does the same on another machine.
System Ram is more important for Photoshop than video ram. I really don't think there'll be any difference between a 64MB or 128MB video card in Photoshop. So if you can save money by getting a 64,go for it.

I don't think anyone here can answer this. Without trying to insult you , the most common explanation would be that the problem wasn't ram related to begin with or that it wasn't properly seated when you tried to reinstall it in other machines.

I'd have to disagree. You're a lot less likely to have problems now and in the future if you get name brand. You definitely don't need HyperX or deluxe modules of any kind but I'd avoid generic no name ram.You also get lifetime warranties when buying Kingston or other brands' "Value" models...
Have you tried removing the heatsink, reapplying some thermal paste and cleaning the heatsink thoroughly with some compressed air ? I've seen a heatsink + fan clean up reduce temps by up to 10 degrees C.

As far as other benchmark apps , just take a look at the huge number of cpu reviews available here and elsewhere and try one of those.
The only way AMD would ever find out you were using another HSF is if you tell them. If you do decide to use another HSF , hold on to the stock one. For the Athlon XP's , AMD uses the sticker on the HSF to determine if your cpu is under warranty. Don't know if this is the case with the A64's...
