how to block a website on Computer ?

Plenty of add-ons that can do that in the browser, Browser configurations, even router configurations. There is no easy go to. It depends on what you need I recommend researching the topic. As per post above.... Google it?

As far as I can tell WebExtensions is a great API and limits features that add-on developers shouldn't have. Unfortunately, it also limits some functionality here and there.

Upgraded PC, but what about Operating System?

I can second peoples opinions. I doubt you will have a chance to activate it on another device. It will be a little bit more expensive but a lot fewer troubles simply getting a fresh Windows 10 copy.

uBlock Now "Legacy" in FF. What to switch to?

I am fairly certain that uBlock is no on WebExtension API? I had a couple of people report to me saying that it was properly rewritten, not too sure about it though.

'Onliner' malware spambot targets 711 million email accounts

Not surprising really. We don't have any education in schools about malware threats, people hardly know that there are malware researchers who report about threats daily and cyber security is an actual issue. Until we start actively enforcing, or at least convincing people to educate themselves...

I assume there is going to be a lot more plugins who are getting remade in WebExtension. However, as far as I am aware, a lot of developers are bailing out completely, which is unfortunate.

Can you use file backup to recover entire drive or not?

In the past, I would have recommended CrashPlan (Hopefully, someone can find a way to make an old version work on a decentralized network), right now Acronis or Storegate craft. Free versions? No clue, I would need to do extensive research on that topic. I haven't explored free backups.

Trying out Kaspersky Anti-Virus? Won't install. Help?

Not sure why people are calling Kaspersky "Crapware" or bad in any way when it was at pretty much top of the charts for decades when it comes to protection. Try booting into safe mode and installing Kaspersky there. If that doesn't work, make sure you remove any antivirus solution you have right...

Intel hd 2000 driver for Windows 10 (Solved)

I would strongly advise against downloading software from third party vendors. Just go to official Iobit website and get the required software there. Just a fair warning, that driver booster doesn't actually do that much, it might be slightly convenient at times.

What happens if you disable JavaScript?

Good to know you found a solution. I will give that combination a shot myself, haven't tried smart JS disabling and private plugins, couldn't hurt to experience them.

Even discounting that, It has been proven multiple times that AV does work. And even if it doesn't protect against all of the threats, that doesn't mean you don't need to use it. Just having it on your PC gives a much better sense of security. Maybe they are not even doing much, occasionally...

What happens if you disable JavaScript?

While it might not be the worst idea of all time to disable Javascript entirely, It is not that great. Pretty much every single website uses that, for various tasks. Limiting potentially malicious code execution on your browser can be useful, completely disabling is going to "break" the pages.

Well, isn't that the point of AV? To prevent user mistakes? You will never be 100% aware all of the time. Humans bound to make mistakes. And no AV will protect you 100%, which is why a combination of both will give you very strong results. Just my opinion.

Intel hd 2000 driver for Windows 10 (Solved)

Best bet in these scenarios is to try downloading drivers of a different OS, earlier or older one in hopes that the Legacy support kicks in and you won't have issues. A lot of Win8 and even some Win7 drivers work on Windows 10. All you can do is try.

The more this continues, the more I can't understand, why pursue Kaspersky to such lengths. Sure, a lot of employees are for government workers, but there are LITERALLY no real strong evidence that they are doing what FBI is implying.

Novice security questions

Interestingly enough, I have the same issue with my desktop. It randomly wakes up for no apparent reason. No mouse movement, screen inputs, but I do have a solid handful of cables connected to it. I wonder if it has something to do with the drivers? Maybe running services while the PC is sleeping?

I am actually interested how these versions of Firefox will do in the future. I am still skeptical about using any 3rd part "ACTUALLY PRIVATE" browsers. As I am not sure about how much they actually keep private, and how much data is being filtered elsewhere.

Opera is still quite relevant. Surprisingly, it's been hammering very solid amount of features. Inbuilt VPN and Adblock both proven to be quite effective at their duties respectively. Although, it still pops up with issues once in a while. Full rewrite of Mozilla would be crazy expensive...
