REPOST: OS Installation Woes...please read

Try different ram or slow it down as much as possible in the bios. Slow all drives down in bios. (PIO mode) Also, try copying the installation cd to the hard drive 1st & install it from there. I had a poor stick of ram once that wouldnt let me insatll an OS, so I substituted different ram out...

Just Got my Tbird 1.4 cpu today, Do I remove those little "feet" in the corners of the cpu?

Thats exactly what I have, Arctic Silver2. It even came in a nice little applicator. Ok, I'll put it on the core then. Well windows just finished installing on my old system (I had to reformat cuz I took out all the good stuff out for my Athlon). So I guess I have enough info to start putting...

Just Got my Tbird 1.4 cpu today, Do I remove those little "feet" in the corners of the cpu?

Do I want a thin even film? If so, its gonna take more than a dot the size of grain of rice to put an even film on this massive heatsink. Should I be able to see the copper through the compound or should the compound be thick enough you cant see through it? I dont wanna screw up my cpu.

Ive got a Taisol with the copper bottom. Ok, I leave them on then, now I hear theres a right & a wrong way to apply my thermal compound, whats right & whats wrong? And yes I already removed that pink goop from the heatsink, that was a pain!

Forgive me for such a stupid question, but Ive never built an AMD b4 & I have read alot about people crushing their cores. My cpu came with 4 of those tiny little foam/rubber feet stuck to each corner of the cpu. Are these to keep the core from being damaged during shipping? Or are they...

Half Life: Blue Shift... Opinions?

MrBond, I have the Creative Annihilator too. The game will lock up on me every couple of minutes if I use OPENGL, so I changed to Direct3D & turned my Vsync back on. (I usually have it off) The lockups stopped. Maybe that info will help/ maybe not, but I figured I'd post it cuz I know how...

Hitachi Superscan 811, I cant figure this out!

I Finally got a look at an Aperature Grille display. It was only a Sony e400 but I was really impressed with the image brightness, clarity, flatness & color. Now I see why people put up with those lines, ITS WORTH IT! I'm going aperature grille hunting. Not that the descision is gonna be...

Microsoft's Whistler anti Piracy feature

l'm a new member and this is new to me.but yes l heard that to.the one thing that really bothers me is.what's going to happen when l decide to up grade my pc.or decide to clean everything all out and install everything again.l hope that does not mean l have to buy another whister installation...

Can I delete just one saved email address without losing all my other usernames, passwords etc.. that autocomplete has stored? Whenever I go to enter my email address, autocomplete uses my old email address because they both start with the same letter. I want to remove this from autocomplete...
