"lost" HD with Windows XP

I recently "lost" a drive. By "lost" I mean Windows XP decided it wasn't there one day. If I go into the administration tools, I can see the drive, but it says that it is an unknown file system. I ran Norton on it, which informed me that the drive was missing some critical bits at the front...
