Memory for the Mac Pro is very expensive compared to the Dell and it is slower than the Dell memory as well. That is the downside to using the Xeon processors in the Mac Pro.
I am building a semi-new PC. I currently have an upgraded Dell 8300 (P4 3.0HT) and I am planning on buying an ASRock Dual-VSTA mobo & a Core 2 Duo and transferring everything else from my existing PC.
Will I be able to transfer my Dell WinXP to the new system?
I know a generic OEM license...
I'm trying to upgrade the video in my Dell 8300. I'm looking for a Dual DVI adapter because I have 2 LCDs already.
There are a bunch of 6800 Ultra's on EBay. I want one but I'm worried that the power supply in my Dell isn't going to be able to hack it. I think it is only 300W. I have 2...
Well, it looks like what I bought won't work as a client. I should have came here before we bought anything!
The wireless network is in a hotel across the street for the use of their guests. Legally do I have permission to connect to their network, no, but I am not hacking into a private...
So, I need to tie my company's wired network to an open wireless network for internet access. Our DSL died and, basically, SBC sucks so we have no idea when it will be back up.
There is an open wireless network that we can access from the office.
We bought an access point (linksys BEFW11S4)...

I just bought a Dell 8300 & I put my old 60GB UDMA/133 drive in it in addition to the 80GB drive that came with it.
Looking in IDE Primary channel listing in the hardware manager, it says that the second drive is only working at PIO speed, vs. the UDMA 5 speed of the first drive.
What gives...
So I'm getting a laptop with a miniPCI modem/Ethernet card. The same laptop is available with 802.11b in a MiniPCI card. Is it possible to swap out the MiniPCI card? I know they aren't designed to be replaced, but could you do it, if you could get a compatible card?
Thanks,

How do I change (i.e. remove) blocked file types for attachments in Outlook 2002 (XP)? I'm running Outlook in stand-alone mode. The only things I find in MS' knowledge base talk about changing settings on the Exchange server.
Thanks,
Matt
The Epson driver from their site is the same one that is on Windows Update. My suggestion is to turn off the automatic update feature, then you will no longer be bothered.
What MP3 player do you guys like best? What I want is one that scans my MP3 files and makes a database (like WMP and MusicMatch) but when I change the tag info the program actually changes the info in the MP3 file itself (which WMP and MusicMatch don't do).
I have WinXP.
Any suggestions...
Yes, I can build my own PC from parts, but I don't have time for that right now. My desktop just blew up (but that's a different post) so I want a new Athlon XP system.
I want to go to some place where I can pick my own components out and have them build it.
Any suggestions on good places to...
OK, how do I play Civ 3 without the CD in my CD-ROM drive? I have a laptop and I'd rather not have to put the CD in to play.
I am disappointed that Civ 3 makes you put in the CD to play. Civ 2 and SMAC didn't require it.
Thanks,
Matt
My suggestion would be to get the meade 10x50 one. It's also $29.99 but it it has a much larger vield of view, 367ft vs. 300ft for the bushnell's.

Just my 2 cents

Well, they got me good. I ordered one this morning and when I checked the order status an hour later they changed the coupon to $60. I call the 800 number to cancel and they say, "sorry it is in processing so we can't cancel it."
I hate fighting with these people.
I talked with my...

Can I use two IDE controllers in a PC (One on the MB & one PCI)?
I have four IDE devices and I need more disk space. I'm too cheap to go SCSI.
Thanks,
Mattazuma
