Those buildings took 7 years I think to put up. Weighing over 100,000 tonnes. It's a daunting task. Another thing to consider is that In someplaces they aren't even finding concrete....

The reason that Saddam was not seriously sought after or killed (other than assassination being illegal) is that the truth of the matter is that we need him in that region. Without him we would not be able to keep troops in neighboring countries (read: troops worldwide), so we "contained" him...

Amen to that one. I really cannot attempt to come to terms with the staggering loss of life today. I remember the news saying that they had set up a Triage center at the base of one of the buildings...then to see the entire thing come down on them was horiffing. Over 200 firefighters and I think...

How did the knives get through?

A lot of the newer ones come in plastic sheaths, most personnel at airports are not advised to look for such small items, even if they had the regular old-school metal ones most of the personnel are only trained to spot suspect packages, grenades, guns (assembeled or disassembled), etc... And...

She is lucky to be alive after a hit like that. Even the radio is bent into the steering wheel. Jesus! I was going to say fight the ticket but she did cut across two lanes which is always dangerous...try to have it reduced if anything. She'll be paying higher premiums either way.
