I'm gonna second his ooinion. AX1200 may actually be the best PSU ever crafted even by today's standards. It has one of the lowest measured ripple ever seen in the land of PCs and many other things. I wouldn't even attempt to OC TR until I had full cover water block or huge air cooler.
I was able to understand most of what he was saying. Nice board. I just ordered the 1950x on Amazon. Now im sorting out what board to get sigh... really wanting Zenith but its spendy as all hell.
Im not understanding here? Is zpb1 worse than b2 stepping? Or are we just trying to see if the chips are built from scratch or failed epyc chips?
I understand that AMD themselves stated that the 2 extra dies that were delidded and discovered by Dr8Bauer or however you spell his game name was in...
According ro Dr8Baeur or however you spell his gaming name... the dies are not that large. Only the heatspreader and PCB has to be so damn large to support all the external connections to the dies. He was stating that essentially a cooler would only have to cover the center portion of the chip...
Was this video made by a tard? I understand if you had parkinsons disease you would apply that much goop but wow they must have hired a complete imbecile to install that cpu thermal grease.
Just spend gobs of money on overkill everything. Done.
As strong as threadripper purports to be with 32 threads its not as fast in vid enc/rend as sli 1080ti. I would get 4 1080ti in SLI.
I would populate all your nvme slots with 1.2tb nvme.
Get 512GB if ECC Registered Ram if board sup...
Hrrm I have no idea but if you can't OC it no biggie the 1700x is damn and I mean damn fast already at stock clocks.
My biggest worries would be that you are using an OEM computer. Thus you must find out if the Voltage Reg. mosfets are up to speed and can handle the current draw imposed by...
Yes the mosfets run damn hot. I've seen peaks at 80c.
Also the included wifi is only 1x mimo so it's only good around 466mbit/s or whatever it is. Its not fast but it is low latency and perfect for gaming. Although I run ethernet anyways.
Also I am not having the voltage problems that oc3d was...
Right that... the mesh. Whatever, its like 535,689 Kelvin when you overclock it. Im not down with that so I gave up on the whole line until they solder it again.
Yeah but it's not juat cores. People think it's just Moar cores.
Its lanes also. Take for instance.
I get a Threadripper because I truly am disinterested at this point in Intel Skylake x.
I run 2x 1080ti at 16x. 2 nvme at full lanes. A 10g Ethernet card at 8x lanes. And a 1x Asus 7.1 phoebus...
Im personally more interested in the power if the R3 for games. Quad core low cost etc.... as far as 6 cores I agree s it being the absolute sweet spot for above avg user for next 2 to 3 yrs. I have. 1700x which will last at least 5 more years but I about to trade up to a 1950x and sell my 17...
I do. I run handbrake and play games at same time on my Zen 1700x. I use a thread manager software though. Windows cant manage cores properly when you need dedicated affinities etc...
When Threadripper comes out, since its been established Skylake X has major heat and price issues with me I can...
I wouldn't do.post pro on videos or heavy design rendering knowing that cores are over 90c. Cinebench is what 20 seconds of pain on a cpu. Not an hour of constant 100% cpu usage. Ypur gonna blow that chip or melt the plastic of the socket.
I put mine in a Fractal design Nano S. Here is a picture. I have much more to do to it.
I ran out of hardline and fittings so I had to use a soft tube on the CPU outflow side. Also my pump is big and didn't fit too well but it functions quite well indeed.
I did get it. Its a nice little board with plenty of IO on the back given it's size. it is also ready for APU when they come out.
The bios is nothing special. Probably one of the most simple I have seen in a long time. I haven't tried overclocking CPU yet but I have overclocked ram to 3200 and...
I just watched the just released official AMD video announcing performance and pricing of the two thread ripper release models.

I am going to buy a 1950X in the first couple weeks of August once the Asus board proves to be acceptably stable or if...
What game engines do you suppose will be better with Vega and Volta? I do not know so your teaching me something here. I am all about Vega but all the people are saying that it isn't really any good but there is always more to the story than a bunch of people that lack knowledge and just go off...
Any updates on when Volta is dropping now? I was thinking of getting two 1080Ti next month but now if Volta is right around the corner why not just wait right?
Yup wow ... that is 4000 chances for something to go wrong in manufacturing. I can see why it would cost so much to make. Probably takes 5x the time to make one of these boards as it does to quickly punch out a regular board
Well true its niche.
But Intels high core count chips are huge too. It's not surprising that thier knee jerk announcement of an 18 core means they haven't even developed a package for it yet. Probably designing the CPU from scratch lol... politics
Im telling you guys... Wait like 3 more weeks. Threadripper will be finalized and we may see another knee jerk Intel reaction and a price drop might happen. To me with another big boy HEDT cpu about to drop its an idiotic time to purchase an higher end x299 chip. Unless you totally are committed...
Ahh gotcha... well I use mine for gaming and other tasks, i.e. drone video post, etc. not sure I would be easy going with that thing hogging my CPU all the time in the background.
We are getting hella close to launch time. A few weeks at best.
Has there been any leaked Threadripper boards out there anywhere that anyone have seen besides what I think might have been an Asus board when the chip was announced? I am getting my wallet ready in the event this processor...
Sure it is. The question is who is buying the x299 platform. My response is simple. If threadripper fails to deliver the goods then yes I am buying x299. Unless you were referring to someone else. You didn't quote anyone.
Anyways if you or anyone goes with the 10 core I highly recommend full...
Im anticipating Thread ripper 16 core at $895 or heck even less haha. I hope the performance is better than Intels 10 core 7900x or otherwise there is no reason to waste money on the AMD part. I am talking multithreaded. I never and still do not expect single thread to surpass Intel. Maybe in 3...
