The web site says "The easy opportunity to download or order the beta software (shipping and handling fee may apply)". This is exactly the same way they handled the public beta of XP oh so many years ago.
While not a particularly "hot" price, the retractable design is very hot. I've got 3 or 4 smaller (128 and 256 mb) drives that have become separated from their tops. This design prevents that problem. The local Sam's had a ton of 'em yesterday.
Round here, Wal-Mart don't jack up the brightness on their display models. None of the local stores even take the time to make any adjustments to the default settings. Went to 2 stores yesterday looking at their $550 and $650 CRT HD TV's and the pictures were very crappy on all display models...
Read carefully the rebate slips printed out at POS. Both require an original UPC. The $10 one also states "not valid with any other offer".
Still, $20 for a 512 meg USB 2.0 device is a great deal!
No matter where you buy your blank media, it's certainly great to see the prices slip downway every week. With this slow, steady decline, coupled with the soon to be released 12X and 16X media as well as DL media, now is definately not the time to stock up with huge numbers of blanks.

I feel for people who delated getting a burner until the dual standard ones were released. I still enjoy the backups I've made on 1X -R, 2X -R, and 2.4 +R recorders long beflore I got my first dual standard one. Both -R and +R media play fine in my DVR, though it will only burn + media.
