So I feel like a bit of an idiot. Last week I had some issues with Vista (that's why I'm on XP only now) and had to reinstall the DC but forgot to rejoin the file server to it. Everything is humming along nicely now, thanks for all the suggestions and help.
I tried nslookup, here is what I get back
DNS request timeout
Can't find server name for address 109.168.0.2 (DC)
Default Server: Unknown
Address: 192.168.0.2
I thought I had all the DNS settings correct but apparently not. Here are my DNS settings;
Under Server Properties...
A little more info.
All client PCs are running XP Pro. I've tried rejoing a client to the domain with the same error after rejoining. The share was working last week, I don't believe I have changed any settings, but this week it is not working. The file server has a static IP that I...
I've got a problem with shareing a folder in server 2003 enterprise. I have a folder shared on a file server so that everyone can access it but only the domain server is able to access over the network. I get an error that says "There are currently no logon servers available to service the...
Thanks for the thorough reply, looks like I'll leave CnQ on then. I should have a Kill-a-Watt by the end of the week so I can test to see just how big the difference would be in power consumption.
Tried it, RMclock doesn't work with CnQ 2.0.
That's what I figured looking at some other posts.
Anyone know what b&m stores would carry the kill-a-watt? I believe I've seen them at harbor freight, but what about home depot or menards?
I have a Phenom 8450 undervolted and underclocked to 1600mhz@1.015v but noticed that with CnQ enabled the cpu speed would go down to 1000mhz but the v would go up to 1.250v. This is for a file server so raw speed isn't really needed and I'd like to consume as little energy as possible, so which...
I changed the speed from auto to 100/full and the d/l speeds took a dump, even slower than the uploads were before. I'm going to try a different NIC today to see if that helps.
I also checked the drives using the raid cards software and it wasn't reporting any errors from any of the drives.
Starting last friday uploading to Windows Server 2003 has slowed to a crawl. I can download at full speed but uploading to it I average only about 500KB/s on a 100mbps network. I've checked the network card and it seems to be fine, I've sent files to other clients on the network and they work...
That is HBO for you. Look at Entourage season 3, they split it up and are asking $40 for 8 30 minute episodes for part 2.
Thanks for the deal OP, I had planned on picking up the rest of Entourage on BF but didn't get out, now they're even cheaper. :D
Yep, most of these digital frames look like crap. Pandigital does have nice 8" and 15" frames with higher resolutions but they are also a lot more expensive, 8" ~$150 and 15" ~$300. I've been thinking of just building one myself out of a 19" lcd and mini itx board.
I had a Buffalo external drive go bad on me after the one year warranty expired so I opened the case and the drive inside was a WD drive with a three year warranty. I'm not sure if the Hitachi is the same, but I wouldn't doubt they just put a normal 3.5" drive in there with the standard...
I believe most motherboards use the PCI bus therefore the throughput of the gigabit nic is not nearly what it could be and if you have anything else in a PCI slot throughput is even worse.

I've had a gameznflix account for the past four months and have been pretty happy with it, I only use it for Xbox 360 games though. The turnaround has been fairly quick and the games at the top of my queue are usually sent.
The IP address where I work was listed on Spamcop due to viruses sending spam from one of our PCs. I found some viruses on one PC yesterday and removed them. The Spamcop listing was supposed to expire last night after I had left, which it did, but when I returned today it had been listed...

Crap, just bought one for what I thought was a good deal at $890. This is Pentax's new top of the line prosumer SLR, it was just released and is comparable to Nikon D200 or Canon 30D. From what I've read, the XTi's imaging is worse than the model it replaces so this Pentax should be quite a...
Crap I'm paying $110/month for two lines, 800 minutes, and no text messaging. Is that the normal price now for 1400 minutes with text and four lines? I signed up about a year and a half ago and haven't checked for a better deal.
Rockbox has been working on it, though it is still early. The mp3s aren't reencoded, they just have some protection added so you can't copy them to another pc.
It's not horrible, I've had it for a year and a half and use it almost everyday at work. You have to use Toshiba's software or WMP to load music and WMP is only USB 1.1 but the Toshiba software works quite well, I just open the software and drag and drop albums from my music. If you have an...
That is a Gigabeat F series, not the S series which the Zune is based off. I have a 20gb F series and it has been great for the last year and a half. Battery lasts about 16 hours and the screen is really nice looking, it doesn't play videos though.
I checked the Rockford, IL store around 8:00 and the line was winding around the store, I've been by this store on BF the last few years and it has never had a line this long until 2-3 in the morning.
I know, that is why I said to try using only BBbucks to but a game. Some BB managers will not let you use them, they will make up their own rules. Read one of my earlier posts about the problem I, and many others, had last year with the same rules.
