Making a GeForce into a Quadro.

It is apparently very easy to mod your GeForce 2 into a Quadro 2. There are several sites that show how to do it. Just do a search on Google and whip out you soldering iron. Maybe if I get bored I'll try it sometime.

How much Hard Drive Space do you need?!!

Oh yeah, the joys of no conversion. The pleasure of keeping the original quality. DivX quality is good. It just isn't perfect. Unfortunately, I would also need a large writable disc to putit on. I keep my backups of my DVD's in a different location in case of fire.

Why not just mail your friend the disc? It would be a lot easier in the end. Your friend can mail it back when finished. If you have access to a burner, you could burn a copy and mail that to protect your original. Unless you both have DSL or anything else faster than dial-up it will be mind...

HELP!!! Burned my SB Live daughter card!!!

On my system my cable is way shorter than any IDE cable I have. It is obviously too short to reach any of my HDDs in my tower. If you can't tell that you have a cable that is much shorter than the rest then I advise you to spend the $15 and pray your daughter board is still alive.

DVD is it possible to record to hard drive

You can rip the DVD to your HDD with something like Smart Ripper. It takes around ten minutes to rip 2 hours of video on a T-Bird 700 (haven't timed it exactly). I think you can deMacrovision it with Smart Ripper (not sure though). I guess you can play the file from there. I've never tried...

What happens if the fan power wire shorts out on the case?

There is a fuse in the PSU. If that is not the problem you could have a damaged MB. BTW the fan in the PSU needs to be replaced. There is not much more you can do for it. Hope you can find some fuses before anyone finds out what happened. Good luck.
