I figure you're right, but I'd still like to get him something near the top of the line, so that it will last as long as possible, performance-wise. So I'm trying to figure out what the "top-of-the-line" is, or what the next best thing might be.

Hi All I reinstalled my modem and now the telephone line I have running through it rings both at the handset AND through my computer speakers. I turned the modem volume to OFF, but it still does it. Any ideas? Where's the switch. It didn't do this before... Thanks

Did I Install This Zalman Correctly?

I used the Zalman paste that came with the heatsink. I didn't think it would make a world of difference, and it was included, so there you go... Good to know that Arctic Silver says that...it seems to corroborate the movements I was able to induce. Good info.

Well, I'm not adverse to buying used, so that's a tricky question. But I'm looking at maybe $135.00 tops, though I know I can buy a 9600 XT/Pro for less, used.

Upgrading from a Radeon 7500. Not playing all the latest games. Currently play BF 1942 OK with the 7500, so this is a major improvement for me. Not interested in other cards, thank you. Only interested in an ATI family card. So...since I'm not looking to upgrade to anything but the 9600XT...

Hi All I'm looking at upgrading my vid card to a 9600 XT. I see that the 128 mb versions are pretty close to the 256 mb cards, price-wise. Any reason I should avoid the larger memory card, like some oddball performance hit? Or just go for the larger amount, since the prices are so close...

Is cotton wool ok to use to clean CPU and HS?
