@ddogg My trick was to have #1 loosely screwed down before getting 2 and 3 a few turns. When #1 was tightened to spec with the tool, I couldn't get 2 to catch.

Never mentioned in the thread, I did order the Threadripper. Got it, the mobo, the RAM and PS. Case is supposed to arrive Mon. The water cooling setup shipped, hope that doesn't take too long. Maybe I got lucky, I was able to get the CPU screws in without too much effort. #2 the hardest...

My bad, I'm probably the 20th poster that misread your 2x 2x8GB kits you bought. :oops: Still, that's the at/below the magic threshold. For some reason beyond 32GB @3200 or higher isn't supported.

Well, I sure hope you're right. But you're running 16GB, right? With the size of the memory modules, you hit some kind of magic barrier at 32GB.

I debated that for a while... And I certainly could be wrong, but I went with 3200 CL14, for 64GB. It was about $725, to go to 3600 would have been $800. I think you're right on 32GB and less. I did get an email back again from G.Skill, they would only support 3200 up to 32 GB of RAM. They...

Thanks ddogg and dlerious. Ordered everything from EKWB, the block for the Threadripper and two Titan X Pascals. One of the fans is out of stock for a few days, then to get here in the US will take a bit... hopefully I can get by the following weekend.

@ddogg I looked at some vids, thanks for the info. I think I'll just stick with the EWKB, it looks like the micro finned area covers the dies. The XSPC raystorm does practically cover the whole spreader, but I'm a noob at watercooling. Only have a few AIO cards right now. Their configurator...

Yeah I think I'll get a custom loop for this too. If there is no difference on overclockability, I gotta think harder about it. Rendering app I use the most I don't think will use all the cores, they recommend 6 but it seems the core speed certainly effects it. It heavily uses the graphics...

Wow, it's been 3 weeks and still no 1900x reviews. I have been a bit tempted to save money with it, as with most of my use all the PCI lanes will be biggest benefit - two video cards at x16 and the tertiary card still at x8, and still all the lanes for M2 storage. There's a little trade off...

Don't really care about the RGB, especially not for the price difference. That last kit is guaranteed Samsung B-die. Nice. I noticed that they have the 3200 MHz CL14 with the 16 GB modules too. These would also be Samsung B-die...
