Scoop,
You cant blame someone for trying =)
I guess I will just get the F version and use a 5v mod on these fans. If that is too loud, I will just remove some fans.
Hi guys,
I am planning to put 6 new fans in my case. I was hoping to keep it as quiet as possible but also have enough cooling power.
Would you guys recommend the SFF21D or SFF21E ? The D version is only 8.5dba and pushes around 33cfm. While the E version is 20dba and pushes around 49cfm...
Hi guys,
I was wondering if you guys knew of a third party person that could help me cut a side window on my case.
I live in New Jersey. Any recommendations?
I see markymoo, thanks for the reply... so what u are saying is that the TRUE120 needs to be assembled horizontally...
I was hoping that since the ultima 90 is the smaller one of them, I would be able to fit it vertically.
Hi guys,
I am wondering if this combination would work. I want the cpu heatsink fan to blow to the back of the board but I am scared that the northbridge heatsink from this motherboard is too tall..
Does someone here have this combination ?
Thanks
thanks Mem,
Nvidia has 16.08 drivers now. Please find the link below...

So, I tried another dvd player yesterday... and no go.. the burns are slow and they often have problems. I think it has to do with the drivers not being...
thanks for the replies guys,
I used nero 7 and 8 and ashampoo... but they are all giving me problems... maybe it is a drivers problem with the NF4 chipset...
Hi guys,
I installed Vista 64 a few days ago and I am having some problems burning dvds... I was wondering if you encountered the same problem.
My setup is:
DFI Ultra-D NF4
Amd X2 3800+
2gb OCZ Platinum DDR
1 WDC raptor 150gb
2 WDC 320gb drive in Raid-1
1 DVD burner - pioneer 111d...
Thanks Aigomorla. I have been reading a lot of prior posts and you seem to know a lot about water cooling... anyways, when u mentioned that I should not mix the WB, would either the D-TEK cpu water block or the swiftech Apogee GT be an expection?
Hi guys,
I have a Koolance Exos-2 with an older DFI Ultra-D board on a Amd X2 3800+. I am planning to slowly migrate into a more sophisticated water cooling system. A few questions for you:
1) Do you have a recommended WB for the NF4 chipset? Meaning, one that I can use once I upgrade my...
Hi guys,
I have a cable modem and a dsl connection at my place and I was hoping to merge these two.
Is there a router that you would recommend for this?
Thanks
I just got this laptop and it is having the weirdest of problems
whenever the computer is plugged in the AC, the wireless network works like a charm...but whenever the ac is unplugged and the batery is on... the connection will work a minute and disconnect.
any way I can fix this problem...
actually goober,
I left the horizontal scale the same at 720... but chopped the black area of the movie off. That is how I got the 720x304. Is that abnormal?
Jag,
thanks for the excellent advice. I should have asked the forums before encoding some of my dvds...now I need to go back. OH well, it is no biggy.
Also, is there a tool that you could recommend to check the average bitrate of my dvds?
hi synth, that means that your output file is 1280x720 right? Just a quesiton... given that most of the dvds come in 720x480, doesnt that stretch the image?
Hi folks,
I am going to build a HTPC and hook it up to a 1080P display (yet to be purchased...) . Can anybody tell me what is the least acceptable bit rate (in X264) that I should encode my Dvds in order to maximize the quality of the output?
I know that most dvds nowadays are in 720x480...
HI guys,
I have a amd x2 3800+ overclocked to 2.6ghz at 1.325*1.1 = 1.457v.
My exos 2 system is also cooling the nf4 chip (i have a dfi ultra-d) and a ati x800 pro.
Anyways, I am currently getting around 30-31 C when idling and around 40-41 when priming. Are these temperatures high for...
Hmm, possibilities ...
1) increasing your memory voltage
2) loose up the memory timings
3) use a different cpu multiplier (say... 11*255 and u can even use a 9/10 divider)
hmm,
if you are failing Prime at ldt 5x and HTT 230 then it is not a cpu problem but most like the a ram problem. Do you have a defective memory module? Or maybe your memory cant run at 230 htt (using 1:1) and u might need to loose the timings a bit.
You should try memtest to test my...
my alternative settings would be:
FINAL SPEED: 2600
HTT: 260
LDT MULTI: 10
MEM DIVIDER: 5/6
RAM SETTINGS: 2.5-3-2-10 running at ~217 ---> Need to relax CAS in order overclock
VOLTAGE: 1.45
a quick update,
I finally found out the culprit... it was my ram!!! apparently, the ocz 2gb platinum ram is not a very good overclocker.. so this is what I did instead
FINAL SPEED: 2700
HTT: 300
LDT MULTI: 9
MEM DIVIDER: 7/10
RAM SETTINGS: 2-3-2-10 running at ~210
VOLTAGE: 1.45 * 110%...
hi rise, thanks for the reply. I have been playing with a system and it seems to be stable at 2.61 ghz at 1.45...
I read some posts that 1.6 and 1.65 is ok in a water cooled system... provided that the temperature doesnt go above 50C. However, I am just surprised that i couldnt get an extra...
EvilHarp:
Here are my settings
FSB : 260
LDT mult: 3x
Ram Divider: 5/6
Voltages (RAM, CPU, HTT) : for ram is 2.6, cpu is 1.45 (under bios) - everything else is default
Ram Timings (Default timings tcl-trcd-trp-tras + volts + fsb and your current setup) - right now, it is...
hmm the memory is current running at 2.7v...
but the thing is, I am trying to improve my cpu speed... I set my memory with a 1-half divider so that mem is not the issue.
Hmm, anybody?
Btw, what is a maximum safe voltage for the amd x2 chips? Is increasing my voltage the only way to improve my overclock or is there something else that I could do?
This is my current setup.
Amd X2 3800+ Toledo
DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D
OCZ 2Gb Platinum
ATI Radeon X800 Pro
Hitachi 250 Gb EIDE HD
And the cpu, video card and the mb chipset are all being cooled by a koolance exos 2 system.
Right now, I am getting 2.6 Ghz on this cpu.The voltage...
hi Daemon,
thanks for the advice. I am planning to have the 3/8 tube run from the CPU block into a F splitter. I believe the F splitter outs are 2 - 1/4 tubes... these should be able to run well in parallel to my video card and chipset cooler :)
Would this be fine? Or will it still kill...
