When you all say that an oem copy of xp home is tied to the motherboard,
that doesnt mean that the motherboard is tied in any way to that oem copy, does it.
for instance, i can buy a used motherboard and it doesnt matter what was
installed on...

I went to taskmanager and looked for explorer.exe, and it was not running.
so I went to new task and tried to run explorer.exe, but
it would not re-start. :-(

A friend of mine has a new dell computer.
After it boots, and he logs on, he loses all of his icons and the

Try booting of the Windows XP disk and don't format, try installing windows over your present Windows and see if that replaces the dll.

yes dvd2svcd is an excellent program, but you need to get cce
(cinema craft encoder) to use with dvd2svcd for best quality.
If your willing to use 3 disks/movie, most 120min. or less movies
can be encoded in 3 hours using constant bitrate (cbr) of 2500.
(I use epox 8kha+ and xp1600 512mb ddr...
