    Ford Maverick

I've been considering getting a Bronco in a couple years once the initial demand dies down. I'd much rather get this, if they would only put a manual in it

    Weathertech or Husky floor liners?

I've got weathertechs in my cobalt ss and huskies in my focus ST. The weathertechs are definitely nicer, but were also more expensive. If i was gonna do it over again for the ST, i would get weathertechs.

    Experiences with Verizon Prepaid?

They have U.S. Cellular and get 4G coverage. When i visit them, I am not roaming on verizon, however, i am on contract. I get a weak 4G signal, bounces to 3G a lot and sometimes even to 2G. I have an AT&T smartphone for work and that gets no service. My wife is on straight talk and gets roaming...

    Experiences with Verizon Prepaid?

My contract on verizon ends in 10 days. Thinking of switching to verizon prepaid (ALLSET plan for $45/mo - unlimited talk/text + 500MB data). I typically use between 500MB-1GB in data a month, but figure I can always purchase another 500MB for $5. Anyone have experience with coverage/speed...

Convince me to buy a non-replaceable battery cell phone

For me, removable vs. non-removable became a non-issue for me once the razr maxx came out. For example, i just flew international from detroit to prague on saturday. Used my maxx hd the entire flight (in airplane mode of course) playing games and listening to music. Arrived at 9:00 AM in...

New Phone: Moto X (2014) or Xperia Z3?

I think the turbo charger mitigates the smallish battery to some degree, but i still wish the battery were bigger. It would be a no-brainer for me if so. Big batteries in still relatively thin devices have been what's kept me on the droid maxx line the last few years.

Google selling Motorola to Lenovo for $3 billion!?

Sure I'd prefer a global Maxx rather than a verizon-specific as well, but I'm stuck with verizon regardless so it really doesn't matter to me in the end. I'm just really hoping there's a new maxx in the pipeline for later this year when I'm ready for a new handset.

About to sign on a new car, Talk me into, or out of it

I say go for it. I am the original owner of a 2002 Escape that now has 140,000 miles and has never had any major problems. It was my first Ford and has been a great experience for me.

    "Charge Opportunistically" vs Removable Battery

This is why I love my Maxx HD. Never even have to worry about battery. Just charge when I am sleeping. I can probably count on one hand the amount of times its ever even dropped below 40% in a day over the last 13+ months.

    1 GB + Android 4.1 & up?

I have a moto razr maxx hd with 1GB running 4.1.2. It's totally smooth. Moto basically uses stock android though so that may be why.

Dell Inspiron 7000 14" first impressions + goodies

I've been looking at this same model but the HDD has kept me away. Now I'm thinking of getting it and swapping in a SSD like you did. Two questions: 1) Can you comment on the battery life (after the SSD swap)? 2) I don't have a copy of win 8.1. Is it possible to pull a recovery off the HDD...

    Best Fitness Bracelet?

The Up has capability to import data from other apps, so that be beneficial to her if the iOS diet tracking app she uses is one that is tied into the Up app. Fitbit may have this capability too, not sure.

FWIW I have had zero issues with my Jawbone Up. I've worn it every day since June.

    Best Fitness Bracelet?

I've been using a Jawbone Up since June. I chose it over the Fitbit Flex due to the sleep features and mobile app. It's not perfect but I like it a lot.

Is anyone actually excited about the 2014 flagship phones?

Improvements in battery technology would of course be better but I don't think we NEED it to achieve all day battery life. My Razr Maxx HD easily lasts a day with heavy usage. This is a 2012 phone. I don't understand why other OEMs haven't done the same thing.

Pole: Droid Maxx by Motorola vs. HTC One (Verizon)

I voted Maxx. This is based on my experience living with the Razr Maxx HD for a year now. I haven't actually played with a Droid Maxx yet. HTC One is a beautiful design, but when I played around with it I really didn't like Sense and the battery is just not big enough for me.

Phone manufacturers should go more into the removable battery route.

You said there was no trade multiple times in this thread... I'm glad at least now you seem to be understanding that there are trades, they just don't matter to you. Please understand that they may matter to others and the fact that there are various good options across the spectrum is a good...

Phone manufacturers should go more into the removable battery route.

I agree, anyone who says that is a moron. There are definitely trade-offs between the two though. Ultimately it matters what's important to you. That's why I'm glad there are lots of options.
  20. S

Phone manufacturers should go more into the removable battery route.

I thought there was "no trade"...Lol

Phone manufacturers should go more into the removable battery route.

I love the existence of the GS4 too. As I said before, the more options there are, the better it is for all of us. Like I said early in this thread, it's become a non-issue for with existence of phones like the Maxx line. Now that I have something that lasts 2-3 days between charges, it really...

Phone manufacturers should go more into the removable battery route.

THIS! That is all I'm saying. Unfortunately ChronoReverse does not see it. He keeps saying there is no trade, which is ridiculous.
  23. S

Phone manufacturers should go more into the removable battery route.

You agreed that there is a trade in volume versus capacity for a removable vs. sealed battery. The only way I could prove this with a physical example of a device is if I had two of the exact same devices one with sealed and one with removable. I do not know of any so I'm sorry that I cannot...
  24. S

Phone manufacturers should go more into the removable battery route.

There you go, you proved my original point, there IS a trade. Maybe about 500mah. Please stop saying there is no trade.
  25. S

Phone manufacturers should go more into the removable battery route.

Actually I mentioned the Droid Maxx which is different that the Droid Razr Maxx (as well as different from the Droid Razr Maxx HD) as a reasonable close comparison but then stated that it was still not great because they are different devices with different components and features.
  26. S

Phone manufacturers should go more into the removable battery route.

There are no manufacturers that make the exact same device but with both sealed and removable battery options so how am i supposed to prove this by using actual devices? Do some research into battery packaging, if you want to make a battery that is designed to be handled by a consumer it has to...
  27. S

Phone manufacturers should go more into the removable battery route.

See above, there are packaging constraints that come with a removable battery that result in a thicker overall device. To say there is "no trade" is just not true. That is all I'm saying. I personally do not make my decision on sealed vs. removable battery, but understand that others do. I think...
  28. S

Phone manufacturers should go more into the removable battery route.

Droid Maxx is 3500mah. Razr Maxx is previous gen. As openwheel pointed out, apples vs. oranges. Even Droid Maxx vs. S4 is not a great comparison since they don't have identical components. The fact is that all else being equal a removable battery results in a thicker device than a sealed battery...
  29. S

Phone manufacturers should go more into the removable battery route.

Just because you keep saying this doesn't make it true. If I have an S4 and want a 3500mah battery it's going to be significantly thicker than a Maxx. Never mind that the aftermarket battery is not nearly as good as the oem.
  30. S

Phone manufacturers should go more into the removable battery route.

Of course, but as openwheel stated that is not reality. Plenty of people like myself have no need for removable batteries and prefer the increased battery capacity/smaller overall volume. Plenty of others prefer the flexibility that having a removable battery provides. There's clearly markets...
  31. S

Phone manufacturers should go more into the removable battery route.

There is at least one drawback in that the device must be thicker for any given battery capacity. That may or may not be a big deal depending on what your preferences are.
  32. S

Phone manufacturers should go more into the removable battery route.

The only reason I ever wanted a replaceable battery was so I could stick a huge aftermarket battery in the phone. Since Moto started the Maxx line, this has become a non-issue for me.

YOur oldest smartphone that you still currently have.

1st gen iPhone 8GB. I'm assuming it still works, it did the last time i used it about 4 years ago.

    What phone do you have?

Moto Razr Maxx HD (Verizon) and Blackberry Bold 9700 (AT&T)

What does you MotoX look like (Use Motomaker)

I like the woven patterns. I would still pick one of those even though they'll be more common. White woven back with white front and red trim.

    Moto X (Is Out) [8.01.2013]

Yeah no point in upgrading from a Razr Maxx HD to the Droid Maxx although IF I was in the market for a new phone it would definitely be the Droid Maxx. Love that battery in the thin form factor! I still don't understand why other OEMs aren't doing this???

Chrysler finally killing off the Grand Caravan?

Here in michigan with the decline in property values over the last several years and corresponding loss in tax base for local communities, I have definitely noticed much less frequency of salting/plowing in the winter. Especially in the neighborhoods as city services have been hit really hard...

No AWD though, which can be tough for us in the north.

would you take bulky if it had much better specs?

This. I have never even come close to killing my Maxx HD in a single day. I normally go two-three days easy.
