Hi, I need a suggestion for a CHEAP firewire PCI card that can operate at 150 Mhz Bus (PCI @ 37.5 Mhz). I am currently running the mobo below at 150. This will be used with an IPOD. Thanks!
I am looking to move from a P3/VIA 694X to an AthlonXP/KT133A, since both are VIA and use the same 4in1's, would I need to reinstall WindowsXP? I have it setup so nicely and don't want to spend all that thime tweaking it again.
I am looking to upgrade to a CPU/Mobo hopefully under $150. I will keep the following in my system:
384 PC133 SDRAM
Creative 52X CDRom
Maxtor 30G 7200 HD
Geforce2 MX 32mb (original)
AOpen Yamaha Chipset Sound Card
3Com NIC --- *ISA* (willing to replace w/ cheap PCI NIC)
Generic Case w/ 250W...
I am trying to tweak as much performance out of my p3 800/133 as I can since I won't have the cash to upgrade for another year or two. I have my pc133 runing at 150 Cas 3 right now and my P3 is at 900/150. I want to sell my current memory (which does not do cas 3) and get some pc 150 Cas 2 so I...
I've got a P3 800/133 with 384 RAM and currently run 98SE with no problems. I want to migrate to Win XP Pro just so I don't fall behind in the times and have new features to play with. However, I am really particular about the speed and responisveness of the OS. Will XP Pro run reasonably near...
Since the new Palm OS 5 is designed for the ARM processors, do you know if it will run on old flashable palms? I am looking to buy a Clie T615C and am curious if I should wait for the ARM Palms to arrive.
You guys are crazy! $113,636.98 is way to expensive for an AMD 800 Mhz. I can offer an AMD 850 MHZ and i'll even through in a mouse pad for only $50,000. Thats well over 50% off. I accept Paypal as well!
You might have too many messages in your inbox or some corrupted ones. You can try compacting your message folders under File->Folders. That might help since your folder databases are really the only things carriered over when you uninstall and reinstall IE6/OE6.
.CHK files on my system are lost fragments that are saved onto the disk by some disk scanning program like MS's ScanDisk or Norton's Disk Doctor. If they are in your ROOT (C:\) directory, that is most likely the case. You can view the files to see if they contain any data you may have lost...
I constantly see "*******" is suck! What the heck does that mean? Am I missing something here? I always say, ***** sucks! or at least **** is sucky!

I have an AOpen AW744-L and am trying to hookup a microsoft sidewinder gamepad to it but windows does not detect it in the Gaming Options Control Applet. I have disabled the onboard sound and the onboard game port. I have also installed the gameport driver that comes along with the AW744-L...
A hardware key is a copy protection method. It is usually a small device that is plugged into a serial port. Usually, a program will be crippled unless the device is plugged in.
I recently learned a command "C:\WINDOWS\RUNDLL.EXE user.exe, exitwindows" to shut down my computer. Works great as a shortcut, but now I am asking if there is an equivalent command for standby? Using WIN98se.
I have the same problem as well, is there a solution to this at all? I am looking for a breakout box type device with inputs and a volume control so I can plug either my speakers in or my headphones in them. I wish my ACS33's had a headphone jack...
There seems to be some confusion. In the LA Area, there is free night and weekend minites. You can choose this option or in its place take the free mobile to mobile.
A lot of these questions ask for facts or numbers you can look up. It would be almost impossible to remember all the facts. More challenging questions would be more intuitive and require some thinking not regurgitation of facts. Those would be difficult in that you know everything you need to...
Here's a link to a another forum thread that discusses this: Link
Here is a place that discusses and sells these antennas, seems like an honest opinion: Link
Has anyone used those cell phone antenna enhancers? They are a small plate of metal that sticks to the back of the battery covery on your cell phone, it supposedly increases reception. Has anyone used these and know if they work as claimed?
Is there a way I can activate the windows 98 screen saver with one click? Or easier than going to properties and then preview? If I could make a shortcut or link, that would be great...
I recently replaced my logitech serial bus mouse (that came with some cool DOS file management programs) which I bought in 1988 with a logitech (blue) optical mouse. Logitech mice last forever it seems. The logitech serial mouse went to my dad, who uses it happily today.
My computer specs are as below, other peripherals I use are
1. ISA 3Com NIC
2. AOpen AW744-L Sound Card (PCI)
3. Creative 52X Cd-Rom Drive
4. Sometimes I use an External HP i8230e CDRW but that has its own power supply.
Have you tried to adjust the sound volume inside the games itself? I know that Diablo2 and Starcraft have internal volume control, you might want to try that.
I noticed at at higher refresh rates, 120 Hz+, my monitor becomes darker. I noticed that when I run counterstrike at 800x600, the refresh is 120 Hz. Is there a program I can use to tone down the refresh rate a little?
I used MEMTEST to check the ram and it reported no errors. I guess the ram is okay, I will try the original Vortex 2 drivers from TB instead of the reference drivers to see how they work first before I try and remove the card. Also when removing the card, can I just disable it in my hardware...
I have been having some random reboots ever since i got my new 128 sitck and vortex2 (TB Montego II) sound card. I went to check the memory first and found that there was an error. I rebooted and checked again and the error was gone. What may be causing this, and is this the cause of my random...
I am getting some random reboots recently that started when I got new ram/sound card. I want to check out the ram first, can I get a progrma that can test my ram intensively?
I have a ApolloPro133A right now, with PC133 SDRAM and other specs listed below. I wanted to get an ABIT BM6 based on 440BX that has PCI/4 Divider as well as AGPCLK adjust that allows me to run PCI and AGP at spec so I can run 133 fsb for my processor. I wanted to know if this is a good idea for...
