Ha - I was going to post "Spider thread? Where is Syringer?"
Dude - we have been on here FAR too long. I bet most of the members active here have NO IDEA what we are referencing ;)
I miss the small local shops as well as the larger electronics / stereo retailers. Circuit City...REX...Computerland...Comp USA...J&R Electronics...Radio Shack... to name a few.
C-64 was my first. I saved my meager teenage funds up and bought it new in 1983 from a local electronics/stereo store that is long gone (RIP, HART Electronics - Vestal, NY)
Hi Eric.
Sorry this reply is a little late in coming, I just noticed this post. We traded the Borrego in for a 2016 F150 last June. While it was still running just fine (I honestly believe that V8 and transmission have at least another 100 000 miles in them), it was faulty peripheral systems...
While I personally love technology and have been involved in computers and networking for over 25 years (a self-professed tech-geek-nerd),
There are some very real dangers and concerns with too much reliance on connected autonomous systems...
For me, there are two distinctive subgroups of "needy" people: those UNABLE (through no fault of their own) to care for themselves, and those who are UNWILLING (for various reasons) to care for themselves.
I believe we as members of society should compassionately do our best to support and...
Funny thing - despite growing up and still living a mere 50 minute drive from the Glen, being involved in racing (driving karts, working on pit crews and in scoring towers) for several years, and attending dozens of tracks in the northeast ( dirt and asphalt modifieds)...
I have never been to...
Pretty good. Grilled a nice steak dinner for the family, my son has a buddy spending the night so we all hung out on the deck just having conversation after dinner, just got out of the hot tub about 20 minutes ago, and we are going to Watkins Glen tomorrow to watch the Indy series.
OTOH...
I used to have them in both my vehicles - I really need to get new ones. I also think the guys you see with the construction vests on came from the work zone (it is an active construction site) where they probably had extinguishers as part of there required safety equipment
It looks like the fuel tank of the white car on the left that hit the divider ruptured. If you keep watching the video, good samaritans pull an older woman from the car through the passenger window.
Luckily, no on was killed in this crazy pile-up in a construction zone on RT-17 east near the I-81 split. I travel this section often when taking my son to hockey games or heading out of town. Scary for sure. The tractor trailer reportedly had brake issues/failure. Local news reported that...
I just want them to get the technology perfected and into production before I retire. I want it in my big honkin' class A motorhome so I can just tell it " go to the Grand Canyon" then grab a beverage and a sammich and lounge on the couch and watch a ball game and a movie along the way.
It was a very fun trip. I loved the park!
...and I have a view of your camper from my campsite ;)
Oh - and one of me at the waterfall too:
And lastly a shot of MY camper with my wife doing her favorite camping activity: reading on her Kindle. (the tent was for my son and his friend)
Wow - so totally did not expect a thread I made 4 years ago to be on the front page, LOL.
Now I suppose I should pull out the DVD for another viewing this holiday weekend! While I am at it, i can watch my other favorite 80s comedy: Better off dead ;)
Freddie Mercury was one of the best vocalists of all time. This is one of the most powerful and emotional songs you will ever hear:

That would be me. I hope to be mobile by early June. My tow vehicle just got taken out of commission (t-boned by someone running a red light). Hopefully it is all repaired soon and I can de-winterize my camper.
This could be a fun trip - but I am kinda scared. The last time I joined a...
I am sure any owner of an RV or travel trailer will tell you if it isn't human waste or thin ply TP it doesn't go down the toilet. I learned the hard way after I upgraded from a popup camper (no bathroom) to a self-contained travel trailer two years ago. I had never had experience with the...
Hey KDOG!
I know what you mean (my poor Outback camper is buried under 2 feet of snow!) I am still making plans for this upcoming season (cannot WAIT to get out and camp!) One of these days we need to get together at the same campground.

While not a SMOKING deal, not a bad price for a good R9 280 with 3Gb of GDDR5. - Good in-depth...
Yep - that Asus 290 caught my eye. I am on the fence on going for that or waiting just a few more days. I see posts in the Video Card forum about what the release of the GTX 960 may do to the market and the pricing of AMD's lineup. I am not in a rush (my current rig, as old as it is, is still...
Yes, I am gaming on a 1080 display.
Sorry I didn't list the case - it is a Raidmax Sigma Phantom (can't believe Newegg still has a working link)
I snagged the MSI motherboard for $89 after rebate, and the RAM and SSD I bundled as a combo and used the $25 off $200 Visa Checkout, so I got them...
Greetings ATOTers.
My trusty 6+ year old P43/E8400 dual core system is finally showing its age too much to bear and it is time to upgrade. I am re-using my case, optical drives, and OS (windows 7).
So far I have purchased:
MSI Z97 SLI plus motherboard
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x...
Stumbled onto the like to the these guys after watching the latest Alestorm video....
Russkaja - ROAR
Actually I kinda liked their new song 'Energia"
Russkaja - Energia
Their website lists their genre as "Russian Turbo Polka" :P
Can we please try to stay somewhat rational here? My wife said it has (understandably) been a tough day at work for her today at the J.C. town court building. While she didn't really know officer Smith very well personally, she often saw him manning the desk when you first walk in the...
Yesterday was an awful day here in the Southern Tier of NY. A Village of Johnson City Police officer was shot and killed yesterday morning right by a hospital by an employee of an MRI imaging facility. Here is the full story as everyone currently understands it:
J.C. Officer Fatally Shot...
The only trip I have scheduled so far this year is to a private campground for an extended weekend near Knoebles amusement park in PA with friends of ours from the Balitimore area.
I want to haul the camper to somewhere outside of Pittsburgh so we can do Kennywood, the Pittsburgh zoo, and make...
