In the cmos & at startup it says 90mhz, but it really seems slow as a 386!

I have an old system that I gave to a friend. It is a dell XPS-90 pentium 90 w/32mb ram & win98se. It is running extremely slow!! According to wintune & norton si, it is running about as fast as a 486DX 33! I cannot find a turbo switch or any jumpers for turbo on the motherboard. I was at dells...

What hardware in car computers?

I always wondered what kind of computers were in modern cars and how they may be compared to PC based components. Z80 based, 8088 based, 16bit, what? Does anyone know anything pertaining to cpu's/memory etc. used in computers in new cars (1980's & newer) Thanks

Celeron 1100 or Duron 1000 from Santa?!

Windows media player

How can I make windows media player close after the file is through playing? It just sits there when done playing and I have to manually click the X to close it. There has to be some way for it to close when finished playing like active movie play did.

Monitor power management help requested

With Windows95 there was two settings for monitor power management. One was standby which would reduce power usage by aprox. 70%, but the monitor would come on almost instantly and there ways suspend which would turn it completely off. I know that windows 98 only will turn it off, but does...

Which is faster Duron 800 or P3-750?

Which cpu would be better for general PC use ( excel, word, games, mp3, internet etc.) I have NO plans to overclock any cpu. Would the celeron 800 be very close to the duron in 3dgames & general PC use? Thanks, JT

celeron slocket help.

Hi, I have an abit BH6 ver 1.01 mobo with a celeron 433 on a slocket. If I go to a newer celeron like a 733, will this slocket still work? I thought of buying a 566 and overclocking it to 850, but am unsure if this will work. How can I make sure to buy a chip that is overclockable? Finally,what...

Voodoo3 2000 driver install?

Hello, I just downloaded the latest (and probably last) driver update for my Voodoo3 2000 card. Should I change my current video settings to standard VGA mode & then install the new drivers? What is the proper procedures before updating drivers with this board? Thanks, PW
