Ive heard that that some fans are considerably louder than the 9700's. Anyone had a chance to compare, I'm looking at non pros as well as pros Thanks.

where in the uk can i get a 9800np ?

yes, np = non pro there seems to be plenty of 9800 pros around as you have found but all with tasty price tag to go with them. the 9800 non pro I understand, at least from some of the examples in USD, has a similar price (and performance) to the 9700pro its just finding one thats the prob :/

Im kinda itching to get a card so I have been thinking along the same lines, the 9700pro is no slouch, so I wont be gettin a dud. I guess you can always wait for the next best thing, or in my case, for the next best thing to knock down the price of the current best thing ;) thanks K

HELP! MB fried? CPU? Both?

I guess you have tried clearing the mobo (popped out battery or jumped jumper : ) ) Ideally you would need to try it in a friends machine as I am guessing you dont have a spare. Mobo will not boot without a cpu so I really can't think of any other way of testing it for sure. K

forgot to mention, refresh force is not a program that you have to load and run all the time, run it once and job done.

@shinyhalo It really depends on wether you are going to actually use that extra 512mb, if you rarely touch it then the lower latency may be of better use, but I would say the chances are you will probably use it. Especially if you are a gamer and defintely if you play games like BF1942 or...

Recommendations for locking a computer (parents want to know for my lil brother's computers)

Could you not just un-install the games and keep the CD's, take out the CD drive if necessary so they can't re-install. Or, install games on a removeable hard drive.

Tepin This is why I wanted to find out about the adjusted bios that I've heard about for the A7V. As you are using a KT7 we are not really comparing like for like. BTW how do you find the noise level on your Taisol fan ? Have you compared it to any others ? K
