in the end i pulled the contents of the file out using winzip and did it the hard way, device manager > search for new drivers and pointing it at the extracted folder.

got a weird problem at the moment, one of my sticks of ram (256mb pc2100 crucial) is only registering as 128mb, half has disappeared!!!
im not getting any errors with the stick still in the system and when i run it with another of the same type.

got a strange ram prob for ya; ive lost 128meg!!! :confused:
Instead of reporting 512Mb im only getting 392-odd meg reported, its as if half a stick is missing... Im running 2 256mb sticks of crucial pc2100 on a soltek sldrv4. All the mem timings are standard and I havent changed...

im fairly certain that I didnt do anything with efs encryption however ive tried everything else and nothing is changing :confused:
