For an additional 6 clams In Win S523T ">http://www.techonweb.com/products/productdetail.aspx?id=B23811</a> from techonweb
Even includes a 92mm exhaust fan, 300w PSU /w 120mm fan(rebadged fortron?).
Theres a fix for the video playback issues. If you're experiecing white out playback, just go to your nvidia display properties and on the left pane(tree), click on Color Correction. Then under Color Profile choose advanced mode. Finally at the top, under Apply color changes to: select ALL...
For a few more bucks, I think the In WIN S523T is a much better option. They come with a 92mm exhaust and 350w PSU (fortron make?). From what I hear the Aspire power supplys are hit or miss.
Anyone experiencing long bootups with this board? No matter what ive tried (replacing cables, diagnostic bootup, etc), I cant seem to this board to boot up any faster than 60 seconds.
I don't think the X-dreamer ll is bad looking case. As far as the quality goes, the steel is quite flimsy, also comes with a very cheap power supply. Its not exactly a good choice if you are thinking about going the quiet pc route.
yeah the grinding sound is normal. my seagate barracuda V was a grinding monster. If it really bothers you, like mechBfon said, get a samsung preferably one with the harder to find NIDEC FDB motors.
there is this annoying whine coming from my board. at first I thought it was hard drive but after further investigation-sticking my head inside the case, the noise seems to be emiting from the cpu or ram area. Could it possibly be the coils?

You can easily modify fans with closed corners with either a coping saw or a dremel with a grinding bit. As for the evercool i've never heard one so can't really comment on it. Have you looked at any of the nexus 92mm fans (19.2 dB 27CFM)? Supposedly they are the quietest fans at 12v.
They also have the slk3700amb for $65.83 shipped through the pricegrabber link. nice price for a great case.
is this considered thread crapping? i apologize in advance if so.
take a look at the SLK3700amb if you like a front door or the LX-6A19 (D8000) if you prefer not to cover your drives. the front intake on these are less restrictive than the sonatas.
Try cutting an old credit card-preferably an expired or canceld one, the short way. a piece about 1 1/2 inches wide 2 inches long. this much smaller strip will allow you to control your spreading much better than a regular credit card. after you dab a little arctic silver in the middle, use...
Have you tried cutting the fan grills off the SLK3700amb? Should make a difference since the honeycomb grills are pretty thick on the back of that case. Also try removing the plastic fan holder up front. instead directly mount the intake fan to the chasis with some kind of fan isolator-like these.
wierd. but unfortunately compaq presario has only one bios for this board-the one that was shipped with the computer. The processor we're replacing is the exact same Athlon 2600+(AXDA2600DKV3C) that shipped with the machine except that the replacement cpu is green instead of brown in color. is...
my buddy is experiencing the same problem on his compaq presario. We installed an Athlon 2600+(AXDA2600DKV3C 266mhz fsb ) in his machine but its being recognized as 2000+ (12.5 x 133). At first I thought he had received the wrong cpu but according to the serial number it is the correct chip.
On 2nd thought, i'd recommend getting a fan for the card. I just touched my heatsink and it was um very hot.
Saw this in hot deals VGA Silencer for $9.99
