Issue with Netscape 6.0

Netscape 4.77 doesn't encounter the error. But sciencewhiz is right, mozilla 0.9.1 is out and it's quite good. I use it far more often than IE now.

Whats easiest way to get a non-networked machine RC5 cracking?

You can also just email-fetch new buffer files and email-flush completed buffer files. but for a couple bucks, you could get a cheap network card too. :)

rc5 blocks seem to be missing again

The proxies were down and out yesterday for a number of hours (main Dnet proxies). could that be the reason there is a backlog? People couldn't fetch RC5 packets (those that wandered into #distributed) I have a feeling your missing stats will show up tomorrow.

CTR makes an excellent point. Many attempts to compromise a system are simply scripts that have been released into the wild. There probably is not a person sitting at a machine trying to access your box, but rather an infected computer.

Dos Client, does anybody use it?

I've used the DOS client in the past with lots of luck. Just download 2 weeks worth of RC5 work units and let it chug away on a box in the corner. Added the client exe to the autoexec and away we went.

Despite a reinstall of ME on Machine 1, I'm beginning to suspect that it's a corrupt driver (or corrupt drivers). As an experiment, I pulled the current hard drive from Machine 1 and tossed in a blank one. I formated and installed 2K on the new HD. Result: network file transfers were fine...

MrChicken: the only change made to the machine recently was the addition of a USB scanner about 9 days ago. rpeAmp: The card was set to "auto" but I forced it to 100Mb/Full Duplex and that had no effect on the problem.

Sharing Internet connection question.

WinRoute is very good imho. I think you can configure to auto-connect or connect with a push on the machine that had direct access to the net. I donno about a client activiation though (unless you were to use pcanywhere or some variation.

Yes, NTFS on both 2K machines. Please note (to all) that there were no problems with this setup for about 3 months, but just this weekend I started having problems.

Troubled machine is an Abit BX6 (original not rev2). I did not tried a different PCI slot. I will try that tonight. File transfer of any size file results in the same behavior.

I prefer www.dyndns.org myself (I actually use *.homeip.net). I also use a program called yiPost to update my dynamic IP automagicly. (yiPost works with a number of dns services) It gives and option for setting an offline IP as well.
