Ok, The reason I build my machines is for performance. Typically use them for 4k video editing or 100mp Raw files from still camera's so if I get a 30% performance hit on my CPU, for an expensive CPU, that is a serious problem.
So no one technically makes a 2TB mSata. My laptop's only have mSATA and SATA. and I boot off of a 1TB EVO 850 msata and use the Sata ports for hard drives.
However, The Samsung T3 and T5 portable storage SSD's have mSATA's in them up to 2TB. My understanding is that I can pull the 2TB mSATA...
I am looking at laptops with 4 ram slots (higher end machines). They typically are spec'ed out to take 16gb x 4 or 64gb of DDR-4 memory.
I read that Samsung has improved the process and shrunk the die sizes again for DDR-4 memory. Does this mean that we might see 32gb DDR-4 dimms so laptops...
Is this only true on low end cheap laptops? because I get the feeling that MSI, Sager, Clevo, Origin, and Eurocom would not disable ports on their motherboards. Dell, HP, Lenovo, Razor, etc, probably would do something dumb like this.
I am looking to build a new tower soon and want to know if CPU's from Intel or AMD with the physical bugs fixed are available and what part numbers to look for. The last thing I want to do is buy a CPU that has this problem in a new build.
