Thanks Dude. Anyone have any problems getting this board to overclock? According to the Anandtech article, this board was supposed to be easily overclockable and very stable.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Will be setting up my friend with this cpu and mobo and I was wondering if anyone has this setup stable. Just wondering what are ideal FSB and multiplier settings to get this thing to 1000 mhz. Are there any issues with these boards that I need to know about???
Would appreciate any input...
hmmm interesting johncar, that doesn't sound like a bad idea. Do you have any suggestions for making a clean duct for and A7V motherboard? I already have a blowhole so it shouldn't be too difficult. Thanks for the suggestion.
i already have a rear exhaust fan and I added another blow hole on the side of my case right over the cpu. Is it better to blow air in or out??? Please advise.
Thanks!
i'm not using any other kind of memory in that socket7 motherboard other than my 1 stick of pc133 memory. But you said it should work so I'll continue troubleshooting. It might be some of the jumper settings or maybe some of my peripherals that are causing this computer to not allow me to POST...
I've got an extra stick of pc133 memory than I want to use for an old socket7 motherboard. I know that these mobos use pc100 memory but can they use pc133? I tried it but the computer would not boot up but I'm not sure it's a memory issue. If anyone could let me know, it would save me a lot of...

Has anyone been to the "will call" section at mwave? Man, the lady that works there is a bi0tch! Well anyway, my experience at mwave has been excellent and unless I find a store that is closer to my area with better prices, I will be shopping there for a long time.
There are many ways to network in the home but the two most common ways that I know of are:
1)If your using Windows you can use Internet Connect Sharing(It's a program that comes with your
Windows cd){>control panel > add/remove programs > Windows setup > Internet Tools}
You can also find...
My 800 tbird with the green core overclocks to 1000mhz and is completely stable. However, I had to manually adjust the voltage setting to 1.825 on the motherboard to get it to work. For some reason, changing the voltage setting in the BIOS wouldn't allow my computer to POST.
If you need help...
Replace the fan! 32db is kind o loud considering the cfm is pushing out. You should really considering getting another fan. I've got a delta fan that pushes out 30 cfm at only 37db. Relatively quiet for the performance gains.
ASUS, only because they always have the right features and they've never dissapointed. Plus, they have great driver support. As soon as there is a problem found, you can rest assured ASUS will have a new driver out the next day to resolve the issue. But I wouldn't hesitate to get any of the...
It's running stable at 800 @ 100 mhz (1.825v). I have a taisol HS with a 30cfm Delta fan and my temp readings are 41c idle and 46c at full load. It only goes up 5 degrees at full load. I tested it with HotCPU tester for 3 hours and it never went above 5 degrees from idle. I'm very pleased...
If your looking for a cool thermal solution for a 1.2 ghz athlon, I would suggest getting the taisol cgk742(inflowdirect.com). On the performance side they are comparable to the Alpha's and Global Wins, but they are significantly quieter and support the amd processors up to 1.5 ghz. And if you...
I'm getting a taisol HSF tommorrow and I was thinking about overclocking to atleast 1 gig. Can anyone tell me the proper voltage setting for a 1 gig setup?

I've heard good things about the enlight cases, but my suggestion would be to get a SuperPower Zephyr. They a relatively inexpensive, come with a 300 watt PSU, have screwless design, are very roomy, and have 3 80mm fan mounts( two in the front and one in the back ). It's only $62!
superpower...
My vote is for the taisol-cgk742. Large easy to install heatsink. Cooling is comparable to hedgehog and globalwin at half the noise level. Inexpensive too!
Taisol HSF
I'm thinking about getting a copper shim plate to put between my cpu and heatsink but I haven't heard much about them. What are they used for? Do they help cooling?
Here's a link to check out:
