I recently re-installed Windows XP my laptop (IBM thinkpad t30) and installed a few programs and I'm having some major lag problems that I've never had before. At random times I'll be browing and/or listening to music and mouse will start lagging and mp3's will start skipping. Sometimes it...
By jewish law, your mother must be jewish for you to be considered jewish. No other (major) religion has this requirement
Correct me if I am wrong however.
I saw The Painist and thought it was amazing, best film I have seen in quite a long time. It was difficult to watch at times, especially if you are jewish (I am, also part Polish) but that is to be expected with the subject matter. It is really more about one man's struggle to survive during...
Wow, I am really tempted by this deal. But... I read something a few weeks ago about Sega possibly ending their support for the GC.
Anyone have more info on this? I need my sega sports games :)
d/l glassjaw- "her middle name was boom" its one of their softer tracks, but also one of their best. Also check out The Used- "on my own" its another great "softer" rock song.
Schindler's List
The Shawshank Redemption
Requiem for a Dream
Memento
Godfather II
Dr. Strangelove
Full Metal Jacket
Braveheart
The Sixth Sense
Pulp Fiction
can't pick just one.
the movie is depressing, though not nearly as much as Schindler's List, but is also very intense and shocking. I can almost guarantee that you'll stare blankly at your TV for several minutes after the movie ends (the final 20 mins. are quite amazing) :)
You should definately watch it at least once.
i really liked the movie thought the ending was a little silly (that whole "swing away" thing was kinda weak). I'd still highly recommend it, some parts will scare the sh!t out of you (like the home video footage of the alien). :)
I'm a huge Aronofsky fan, Requiem for a Dream is one of all-time favorites. The coolest thing is that he grew up in Brooklyn and went to the same HS as me (I was a fan even before I knew that :))!
Type O rocks. Plus they are from brooklyn :)
My friends have seen their car around, and one of my friends swears he saw one of them on the subway one time.

I think I fixed the problem. Turns out I had to install some VGA driver from my motherboard CD, so my score is now up to 10,600. I will never again underestimate the importance of drivers :)
How do I enable FASTWRITES, SBA ??
I haven't messed around with any of my drivers. I am running the benchmark with the default 3DMark settings. BTW, I'm at 2.7ghz now but with little improvement to my score :(
I have all the newest drivers. No FSAA. Framerates in games are fine, but I dont understand the huge discrepency between the 3DMark of my system compared to similiar ones. Something is not right, especially in the "Vertex Shader" test where I only get 14 FPS but have seen other setups almost...
I only get a 8040 in 3DMark2001 SE but I have seen systems with similiar specs go over 10k-11k. I get 12,716 in 3D Mark 2000.

What exactly does "Rated 2.5-3-3 @ 133MHz" mean? Is that good or bad?
Also, would this be good ram to o/c a p4 1.8/2.0 to 2.4-2.6ghz? I was thinking of samsung 2700 but that stuff is pretty expensive, and is probably much faster than I would need.
Thanks
my friend was there, he said he heard the woman screaming :(
and to think, i just sent my admission deposit into them a couple days ago...talk about bad timing.
<< Anyway I was watching this HBO movie last night called The Beleiver and its about this Jewish kid who grew up to hate his own people and he became a skinhead who hid his Jewish background. So as I'm watching this movie and thinking about my own situation it just really impresses upon just how...
<< In the recent Maximum PC review (April 2002) they got the same problem when they tested this drive in the labs using EZ CD Creator. When they switched to Nero, they got the proper burn speeds. Try switching your software, and enabling DMA mode for your drive (Control Panel > System > Device...
I just got a Lite On 32x12x40 burner and some TDK 32x CD-R's. From reviews I have read of this burner it should take about 3:30-4:00 minutes to burn an 80 minute CD but it takes me about 5:30. I realize this isn't a major difference but want to know what could be causing the slowdown. I have...
thanks for the replies. i got some tdk 32x cd's today but its still taking 5:00-5:30 per burn when it should take under 4:00. It's not a major difference but does anyone have any ideas of what might be my bottleneck?

<< I burn 16x CD's at 24x all the time... >>
same here.. and 12x cd's at 24x
i think all cd media is exactly the same, they just mark on it whatever speed is the fastest at the time they make it. >>
hmmm, shouldn't a 32x CD-R take about 2.5 minutes to burn (80/32=2.5) ?
Assuming...
I just got a new 32/12/40 Lite On drive but only have 16x media. When i burn in nero at 32x it takes a little over 5 mins. per CD which means its only burning at 16x (80/16=5). Is there a way to force the CD-R to burn at 32x? I also noticed that in Nero my buffer status bar jumps around a lot...
