The description makes it sound like the drive itself does it.
There is a vague "compatibility list" also
NCQ List
Taking Serial ATA to the Next Level With Native Command Queuing
A SATA drive that supports NCQ has an internal queue in which commands can be dynamically rescheduled...
You are correct,
7200rpm=7200rpm
But this Seagate, has "Native Command Queuing" which gets your ducks in a row, to spit out the data a bit faster then a standard SATA drive (which is a PATA drive with a simple interface adaptor change).
10k, 14k and technology like "Native Command...
SATA drivers needed?
I just loaded my new RS480M2 from CD (XP Pro SP1) to 36Gb Raptor boot drive, Seagate 160Gb (data) / not using RAID.
There was no driver needed. XP saw both drives, and I partitioned and formatted NTFS on the Raptor to load. I split the 160 into two 80's , and formatted...
I got one here at OM, because it helped with the SE WD 120gb purchase, it got me over $150 to use a $30 off coupon.
I also got one at BB (52x LiteOn) cause I had a 10% coupon to use.
Just scored.
WD 8meg $139.99
Cendyne (LiteOn) 48xCDRW #2018-2491 $39.99
Asked real nice to use printed .com $30 off $150 coupon cause HD isnt on website. Manager said yes...
-$30 Cendyne Rebate
-$30 OM WD Rebate
-$50 WD Rebate
It was $179.98 - $30 coupon for $149.98. Then after $110 in...
Even if it is the worlds fastest, it is running on the worlds slowest bus.
If PCI transfers at x, and your card runs at 5x, guess what speed your card really runs at .... x
33MHz PCI isnt going to let your card run any faster.
Good price though. I bought the AGP version.
Im surprised nobody posted this yet...
You need OfficeMax and BestBuy close by...
OfficeMax has a shelf tag like
This Showing $34.99 for Kingston PC133 256mb.
Best Buy has a $28 rebate for the same item. You "borrow" the tag, and show it to BB for a PM that will look like
This.
The rebate...
Sweeeet. I used your 12 digit rule, saw they had other serials, and grabed a 12 one.
Full on Lite-On. I even used the extra 10% coupon thy had mailed out last week.
Not a bad drive for $12.95 after taxes.
Acer Peripherals Inc. sold split off their devision that used to make "Acer" optical drives, and it renamed to BenQ.
So BenQ has been around for years, it was just called Acer.
This same drive and BB price has come up 4 times since March, and NOBODY knows what drives are in the box???
Is the drive so crappy nobody is willing to post what brand is inside?
Looks to be a Benq, anyone who bought this drive wish to tell?
Is mine an OEM Asus? I bought one mail order, came in, has a model number of CRW-5224A (but no Asus on the label. Even in Nero, just shows the model, no Asus. And the drive itself only has a single status light and has a flat face . But Nero shows that it has FlextraLink .
Not bad for a $12.50...
This is also where the complete lazy asses who cant take 10 seconds to do a Google search for files, come to post.
Lets all start posting new Detonator releases....or Catalyst drivers....cause lammers cant figure out a "Search Engine".
Quiet fan = less air flow, just that simple.
Get a good YS Tech fan. Best mix of low noise and decent air flow. I am running my SK-6+ with it now (non overclocked). It came with a black label Delta, my gawd, a harrier jumpjet has nothing on this noise.
May not work for everyone.
But I couldnt get it online (no listing-no way to get into basket).
So I put something in my cart (that was instore/instock). Then choose "Instore Pickup". Yadda yadda - availibility confirmed.
*THEN* I added 755841 to my cart by item number, and it showed up, with...

You can print directly from the printer from a Sony Memory stick (or Flash media with optional adapters) . No PC needed.
I just bought one at lunch. The store didnt even have any displays showing 10 after rebates (probably why they had 2 still on the shelf).
JuryDuty:
Does the card itself have a sound input? Or do you just grab sound from your soundcard...
Techonweb deals are crap (pricing errors) and should be banned on Anandtech.
How many times before have they done this, offer a Ludicrous low price, then cancel hundreds of orders. Nothing but a waste of time.
If you want 4x Ritek, ESBuy is still alittle cheaper.
25pack spindle with free shipping is $49.75
ESBuy
I dont buy from shop4tech.com cause they are higher, and want to charge me tax in Calif.
NO doubt. I have already bought two DVD burners because of MM
{shakes fist in air-curses MM} hehehehe
I got 2 drives, for the single retail of one.
The first Cendyne (PioneerA05) $169.99
The second was first an HP screwup 300i $169.99 (Sold it on eBay for $260). Took $260 and made a deal at...
If this drive does turn out to be an OEM Sony DW-U10A, take a look at this forum. There are usefull tips on flashing it to a NON OEM Sony firmware, so you can then take adantage of Sony updates.
---Any Flash Updates Are Your Own Responsibility---
KNow what you are doing first, or dont do it...
So nobody on the planet (or at lease those who read Anandtech) has bought this drive yet?
As soon as Cendyne was selling Pioneer drives, there was 30 people posting it. Nobody has actually bought this drive? Nobody can just tell us what the sticker on the drive itself says? What their OS, or...
I got that with mine, from late Jan.
Just call the number on the rebate, call them voice, make sure you have a copy (or at least the number on the UPC), read it back to them, tell them you sent in the correct rebate. They will fix it for you.
Some dumb-ass rebate processors saw the first model...
I have this same drive for $169.99 out the door (same messup a month ago, but best coupon I had was $30 off).
Im dying to see if they actually honor the $50 rebate also.
Ditto: This drive rocks!!!
Finally upgraded to the 1.30 firmware...no noticable difference, so no harm.
I stocked up on 2x Sony DVD-R's (.80c each) when I had the chance, still burning strong.
