When I leave my computer on and go away for a while, I turn my monitor off. But when I come back and turn the monitor on its gone all purply/bluey/greenish colour all over the monitor and to get it back to normal colour I have to press the degauss button on the monitor control. The thing is that...
hmmm...this is the problem. I've heard many answers. I know the mouse range is only about 6ft. Thats not a problem for me as I do not care much for a cordless mouse. However, I *love* the keyboard, but if the range is only 6ft as well, I might as well getthe Internet Navigator (corded) keyboard...
I am thinking of buying the Logitech Cordless Freedom Optical kb and mouse and I've heard that they use RF technology. I am wondering whether there are any possible health risks involved with this (kinda like with mobile phones).
I know this seems like extreme paranoia :P, but any info would be...
I'm looking for a new keyboard and mouse. Right now, I'm split between getting a the Logitech Cordless Freedom Optical or getting the Logitech Internet Navigator Keyboard and either Logitech Mouseman Dual Optical/Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0.
I've heard that the Logitech Cordless...
I have a 56k external modem and I'm running Win2k. If I start Win2k when the modem isn't on, Win2k states that the modem isn't attached to the computer and refuses to dial-up. So if I want to connect to the net I have to restart the computer with the modem on so that Win2k knows that it is...

I've got a crappy monitor at the moment and i need a new one.
Anyone had any experiences with it?
I'm looking to fiddle with my computer and tweak it. I was wondering what you guys have done to tweak your own systems. Both in terms of installing software to tweak your computer and tweaking the hardware itself.
For me all I've done is fiddled around with tweaking windows with a program...
It's a great program. I was lucky to get v4.0 off a magazine cover cd for free. But something that I found as equally useful was the freeware NoteTab light. It didn't have all the wizards of Homesite but it was still pretty good
EDIT: NoteTab Light can be downloaded from http://www.notetab.com
I've got a really noisy cpu fan and it makes the noises at random. The noises usually go away after i bang the side of the case a few times.
I've openend the case and had a look but there aren't any wires near it except one wire which goes from the fan to the MoBo. I've moved that wire around...
How many people are running multiple monitors atm?
I've heard really good things about running a multiple monitor set up.
what do you guys think? is it worth it?
I was just wondering if there was a place where i could download the whole Win 2k service pack first before installing it. I tried doing a live install but that always seemed to stuff up.
Also Microsoft have now disallowed Service Packs to be distributed on Magazine Cover CD's as well :( so I...

I bought a webecel 56k external modem and it cant seem to hold a connection for more than 2 hours.
I first bought one and it held the connection for 2 hours and then disconnected. Then after a while it could only hold a connection for 1 hour. I took it back and got a replacement and it can only...
I have installed Red Hat Linux 7 and found out that my sound card hadn't been set up to be used in Linux. I found out that you can configure a sound card using sndconfig.
Unfortunately (me being the lazy person I am), I ran the sndconfig from a terminal window in the K Desktop Environment...
