ok, I have a 20 gig as a primary master, and a DVD on Primary slave. A 30 gig on Secondary slave, and an 8x burner on secondary slave. The 40 gig is on my Primary master on the Promise UDMA 100 contoler.

Yes, I think so. It is under the SSSI and RAID controler as Win2000 Promise...... (and so on, it is the new one from ASUS).

Actually this might be a Win2K problem, but I think that this is a mobo thing. When I boot, I have a 40 gig HD on my Promise ATA 100 controler, BIOS sees it, and in WIN2K, it sees it as a Maxtor 5 4098H8 SCSI Disk Device... Well does anyone know what is going on here?

Now that is what puzzles me, I don't get an error 41, It reads FF, but that is right as soon as i press the power button.

OK, cool. I have been trying to figure this out, and i did pull my HD to get my files off of it it, and now I have 3 days of not too much work to figure out what is up. I think it is the BIOS too, so I am going to try the guys at BadFlash.com to get mine reprogramed. But I wwon't be sending it...

Ok I just cleared the CMOS and it does the exact same thing. I am out of ideas, I have this system heavly modded up. The duron 700, is at 940 (133*7.5) witha peltier, and the video I have at a higher voltage fot eh 15% overclock there. And well, even with the Bus put back to 100 it still won't...

On the 7 segment display, FF is displayed, and this show a flawless startup. Well, it shouldn't show this code from the moment that the power button is pressed. I will try clearing the CMOS....

ASUS A7V will not work with NIC's

I have tried it in every slot, with no other PCI card plugged in so that there would be no interference. Yet to no avail.

Suggest a dual board?

TYAN has a dual socket A in the works, it is one bad ass board. DDR, SCSI 160, dual 10/100 NIC's, lotsa neat things

ASUS A7V will not work with NIC's

My A7V will not work at all with a NIC and any version of a Microsoft OS. Everything else is great. I have an OC'd Duron 600@858. However even with no OC it still won't work. I have been forcd to use an USB Ethernet adapter, that sucks. But there is a Shocker to this saga.... The NIC works with...

What type of Rear Defogger kit for Tbird/Duron? **WOULD THIS WORK!***

I soldered mine and it is fine. However you do have to watch so that you don't get the chip too warm... it does have thermal fuses. my Duron 600@973 with a 50W Peltier and FOP38 is perfect.
