Mobile versions of websites on home PC?

No one knows why some wesbites seem to think IE7 and 8 on my home PC are coming from a mobile device?

Mobile versions of websites on home PC?

As I have surfed around for the past few months - on IE7 and IE8, random websites have chosen to push their mobile version on me. As I am on my home computer I find this incredibly frustrating. I have tried refreshing and reloading the pages. I have tried searching for an answer. I can't seem...

I will never buy another XFX product

My last update (I think). Got my final replacement today from XFX. This is the one where I asked for a retail boxed card (this is my second retail replacement, since when they cross ship they offer them), and was told they only give brown box replacement cards. I opened it up today and it...

I will never buy another XFX product

Yes, yes I have. Why? Because AGP users need to be aware that the move to a high end AGP card at this point is NOT money well spent. If someone had told me the same I may have opted to move to PCIe, but no... I looked around and found lots of people claming they were going to have one last GPU...

I will never buy another XFX product

Exactly what I am saying and why I posted. XFX 79** AGP cards can be troublesome. Take your time choosing and consider other AGP solutions.

I will never buy another XFX product

Uh, no. I didn't give up there. I told them that I appreciated them looking into a PCIe upgrade, but needed an equivalently valued card. They said no. I basically explained that they could keep me as a customer, or they could lose me as a customer. Their actions would be the deciding factors...

I will never buy another XFX product

I cut the UPC for the rebate. I suppose I could have still asked, and I'd even wager that Newegg, being the incredibly awesome company they are, probably would have supported me. Maybe I'll still ask. PSU was swapped back and forth, and because I was running minimal components (CPU, single...

I will never buy another XFX product

Not saying the experience with XFX could not have happened anywhere to anyone on any product. Again, I'm not all huffy about it. Heck it pushed me to PCIe so it really is a win for me. But, and here is why I am posting this.... If my 4 cards were bad, and XFX has said they were, and I agree...

I will never buy another XFX product

Please elaborate. The only area in dispute is that I didn't put the card in a different system. And you're right. I didn't. XFX did. And they found it faulty. Great points. 1) I did swap out the PSU, but there is that slim chance that both my PSU were failing, despite them working fine...

I will never buy another XFX product

I could see those issues if XFX themselves weren't telling me these cards are faulty. How is that not testing the card in another system? Also, the original (until it corrupted) and the 6600GT I had for a year before it worked perfectly.

I will never buy another XFX product

I need to start off by saying this; You know how you buy a brand of product and it or the customer interaction you get from the company providing it turns out to be fantastic? Remeber how your next trip to the store spurs you to head for that product or brand? It's called brand loyalty, and...

XFX and questions about their RMA process

How would agreeing with me that the card is defective make their life easier? If anything, I would imagine they would just say "Nope, card was good, sorry! Here - have it back" and be done with this hassle. It has taken better than 3 months for this process. And it has been a fairly...

XFX and questions about their RMA process

I bought an XFX 7900GS AGP from newegg. 5 weeks into it the card crashes during Bioshock and I get corrupted graphics. I can no longer get into windows. I post onto the Bjorn3D website forum, as they have sold out to XFX. I was told to RMA it. I do. A week goes by and I ask what is...

    BFG 8800GT Fire Hazard

PSU is an Antec 430 True Power. Plenty of PSU for a single card, more than adequate for THIS card, as confirmed by the XFX support staff themselves. As to the naysayers saying the trouble lays elsewhere in the computer, let me point this out again in case you missed it; A) With the...

HAHAHAHAHAHA. You had it easy! I bought an XFX 7900GS AGP from newegg. 5 weeks into it the card crashes during Bioshock and I get similar corruption to what you have described. I can no longer get into windows. I post onto the Bjorn3D website forum, as they have sold out to XFX. I was...

Good RAM and Mosfet sinks for the 8800GT?

Probably not the solution you want, but I just used the long extra heat sink from my Accelero S1 that my 8800GT didn't need. Cut it up into usable pieces and threw it onto the mosfets.

    8800GT 512 + Accelero S1 Cooler w/ Fans

Man, you sure aren't kidding on that one! I wasn't smart enough to use something like goo gone on the adhesive and my fingers still hurt from sandpapering the adhesive off the eight RAM heatsinks. I cut up the spare long heat sink that came with the Accelero S1 and used it to...

Computer won't boot. No BIOS, nothing.

Replaced the MB. Problem solved. But new trouble has shwon up. My Creative Labs Audigy isn't being recognized by the creative drivers. Preliminary searches show it to be an issues with the APIC writting to the EEPROM on the card?!?! Grrr.

Computer won't boot. No BIOS, nothing.

Came home last night and my computer wouldn't boot. Never seen anything like it - because the fans all start, keyboard lights flash, etc. but nothing ever comes up on screen. Normally I would see my video card bios revision, then the MB bios, then the XP start screen. I get nothing. I don't...

Did I buy another CPU dud? Or is D1 stepping to much for a P4B266?

So that if it had been a bad board, I would be able to reload my drives image and keep on trucking with minimal downtime. Any recommendations for a sub $75 P4 board (I was thinking a refurb newegg). Would the P4P800S be a decent match?

Did I buy another CPU dud? Or is D1 stepping to much for a P4B266?

I've been trying to replace my 1.6a that I suspect is the cause of my instabilities lately. I am running a P4B266 (or P4B266-C -I bought the -C to rule out the MB as being the cause of my troubles). I first bought an OEM 2.8/533 from Newegg, because I read a lot of posts that seemed to...

    Downloads "pausing" in the middle?

To download with ZoneAlarm 5.* you must turn off the Mobile Code under Privacy. The trouble is, ZA recommends leaving mobile code enabled, which means to be the most secure, you need to turn it off, download, and then turn it back on. Crappy! Some have downgraded to 4.5* or earlier to bypass...

    Downloads "pausing" in the middle?

I had this problem a while back too. Unfortunately I don't recall thie fix but it was either a Firewall setting or a router setting. Are you using either? IIRC it was ZoneAlarm for me -are you using this?

    Contious reboot

I'd wager that you didn't notice it right after the new MB install 3 weeks ago, because one doesn't always leave a CD in the drive. No CD in the drive = Hard drive bootage.

    Contious reboot

When you first boot the computer, power the monitor on first, and then watch the screen for something that says "Press x to enter setup", where the keywords are setup, and which key to press. It's usually one of the F1, F2 or Delete ("Del") key. Once in setup, read the instructions (usually on...

    VARIOUS BLUE SCREENS OF DEATH

I'm still battling similar troubles, and while I can't offer any tech support at this point, I can offer moral support. I know what this is like! I have new RAM on the way (should be here tomorrow or Friday), and form there I guess I'll go with a new PS -although my trouble might be my CPU...

    Power Supply Pop, now what??

Are you plugged into a UPS too? If so, maybe you tripped it's circuit breaker. Reset it per the manufacturers directions, and see if that helps. Alternately (or in addition to) move everything to a diferrent outlet and see if it powers up. You didn't pull anything but the PS out, right? If, in...

Bad memory, CPU or power supply?

I posted a thread asking for help narrowing down my BSOD trouble. It now seems to be a definate hardware issue, so now I'm looking for guidance on where to start. I am wildly guessing that it would be a memory, CPU or power supply trouble -but I haven't ruled out video card either. Any and all...

    Another random BSOD thread

Ok, that's what I thought -and what you had said in the first reply, so my bumping and posting of latter messages were more for someone, anyone to deny or confirm: My concern/question now is: Is the RAM truly bad, or is a flaky Powersupply and/or fault CPU cache (again, this is a 1.6a that's...

    Another random BSOD thread

I had uninstalled Kaspersky, installed Norton A/V in it's place and continued to crash. I formatted and installed fresh, and continued to see the similar errors, so I went back to the imaged installation. (So basically No -the errors are there even on a fresh MS only install -another sign of...

    Another random BSOD thread

I did uninstall it. The problems worsened until I reinstalled from image. I took our last exchange to mean there was nothing you could do for me, and didn't save any of the numerous dumps I built up. Strange thing is no matter what A/V I run, it seems to eventually get corrupted in the state...

    Another random BSOD thread

Since I can't do anything major on this system, I decided to keep on running the Memtest86 on the system. Now I actually get 1 error on each stick. (one stick at 486MB test 4 pass 3, and one stick at 265MB test 4 pass 9) What I'm seeing is indicative of RAM errors to start with, isn't it...

    Another random BSOD thread

I've been having sporadic, random blue screen crashes and thought you all might be able to help. This is with my ASUS p4B266 running a 1.6A @ 2.4 (I have since returned the clocking to normal, and loaded MB setup defaults). I have a Geforce TI4600 in the AGP slot, an SB Audigy in Slot 2, and a...

New WinXP Audigy drivers at Creative's site.....

Maybe a coincidence, but I used to have crackling sound with the last driver set when I set the digital output sampling rate to 96Hz. I no longer hear the crackling! Not certain it's the new drivers yet though -I'll keep playing around with 'em, but so far so good!

Dry aging takes more care, and more space. Wet aging consists of setting a pallet full of boxed meat into a cooled, dry place for about a month. As far as time, care and space goes wet aging is a relatively painless process to go through for processors. With this convience of wet aging does come...
