Power Macintosh and Memory

What would happen with the RAM then? I mean, if the Mac uses 5V and the RAM 3.3V? Would it still just not POST or would it burn the RAM?

Is ECC RAM worth it?

Actually, when there is big a solar storm going on, it could take out satelites and powerstations quite easily! But I doubt that ECC memory will help in that situation! ;)

Hi, It sits on number 17, all alone... I read an old thread about a guy who had a similar problem like mine...he installed the Via 4.29 drivers, and that solved it for him. Unfortunantly, I cant install the Via drivers...:(

ATA100

Hi, I have a promise Ultra100 card, and a IBM 75GXP... I know that the card will show up as a SCSI card. But the disk, should that be showed as a SCSI disk? I have ran Sandra, and the disk seems very slow... And I cannot find any option in the device manager to turn on DMA, cause the disk...

Need help with IDE controler and HDD

Thanks for the help guys! I will have a look at a new fan/heatsink for my gfx card, or maybe save to a new gfx card all toghether! :) The big issue stoping me from replacing my heatsink on the gfx card is that it is glued to the chip! :( By the way, if it would have been the processor...

Overheat?

Yes, it seems to be working...but it one of those Creative cards. You might have heard that there are som trouble with those fans? They start to make alot of noice after a while. Just checked the fan, it seems to spinn rather slow... I havent been playing any 3D game the last few hours, but...

Overheat?

Yeap, thats right! No, I dont overclock anything...have never done. The processor temp is well in range..i.e. its quite cool. To exclude the processor as the fault (running a PIII 1GHz now), I borrowed a PIII 500MHz, and I still had the same lookups! Best regards Ola Ekedahl

Overheat?

Hi, I have an annoying problem... It must be a heat problem, because if I run my computer with one side of the case of, the problem does not occure! So, whats the problem then? Well, when playing Q3 for 10-20 minutes everything just looks up (no spontaneuos reboot, the display just freez)...
