They failed the laser calibration. (Or at least that was the error message I was getting from the burners.) In other words the burners wouldn't even start burning them. I tried the top five discs and gave up.
Its a gamble. I've had them work and not work.
I also got a spindle of 100 that would not work at all. I tried them in two different burners and it was no go. Now I just steer clear of them.
Try submitting the e-mail you got from Dell showing the order date. Maybe they'll let that slide in.
I was worried about the same problem, so I called Dell on 2 May to see if they would bill me before shipment. Instead they offered to knock $25 off the order. I still haven't received the drive...
I went to the computer fair at the L.A. County Fairgrounds last weekend. The drives were going for $85. Of course you have to add the cost of tax plus parking plus admission.
This computer fair moves around. You can always get it were the parking is free and the admission is less.
Of course...
Got mine yesterday. Works great!
The tray isn't as sturdy as my previous Plextor. However its half the price.
I burnt a bunch of CDs. Everything seems okay. Very fast.
It had the latest firmware installed.
I ordered the drive 24 Apr fromDell. The rebate form didn't have any vendor restrictions.
Afterwards I got an e-mail saying the ship date had slipped to 4 May. This concerned me because the rebate said you had to purchase the drive by 2 May.
I called Dell this morning to see if they would bill...
I bought one and got it two days after Christmas. For the most part it works great. No longer do I have to remember or type in all those Usernames and Passwords. Its great for logging onto Windows XP. Right now I have myself and a Guest setup. Just put your finger on the sensor, and you're in...
Depends on how much you want to pay.
The cheapest one that's okay quality would be the Sigma Designs card.
However the really good ones are thousands of dollars.
Check the specs, only a few will capture full-frame using VBR at low data rates in real-time.
If you need real-time MPEG encoding...
I think the IO Magic card can capture full screen video (720x480). Can it?
I believe the other only captures half screen video.
However since they don't like to publish hard specs on their cards I'm not really sure. Does anyone know?
The QPS company sucks. Good luck getting any remedy if the drive doesn't work. Make sure you buy it from a retailer that will take it back (no stocking fee, open box, etc.). If you decide you don't like it and the seller won't take it back, believe me, QPS won't do squat. I'm speaking from...
I happened to go to the Costco in Long Beach (Signal Hill), CA today at lunchtime. They have maybe 6-8 packages of the Epson paper there. It looked sort of dusty like it had been there awhile. The description on the package didn't give any specifications on the paper, so I don't know what...
I've been using the "Other Photo Papers" and PhotoRetIII setting when I print with the OD paper. Perhaps I should experiment... The pictures look pretty good to me, but maybe I can make them better.
I printed two pictures out that were the same. One on the OD paper, and one on the...
I just bought the HP P1100 last week from CompUSA for $249 (close-out). I'm still evaluating its performance.
I used the Office Depot paper through the printer and I'm not getting any roller marks. However I'm getting three sets of double-line scratches all the way across the paper, from top to...
Office Depot (at least here in Los Angeles) is selling 100 sheets of inkjet photo paper for $24.99 (normally $39.99). The advertisement was in yesterday's (Sunday) L.A. Times. Buy two packages and combine it with this coupon (plus whatever to get to $50), and you end up saving $45...
